Coinbase Suddenly Lists Seven Small-Cap Altcoins, Sparks Major Rallies As Bitcoin and Crypto Markets Search for Support

Coinbase continues to expand its crypto footprint by adding more than half a dozen altcoins to its trading roster.

The US-based cryptocurrency exchange announced that the new crypto assets will start trading on Coinbase Pro once appropriate liquidity conditions are met.

Included in Coinbase’s latest addition is Aergo (AERGO), an open-source hybrid blockchain tailored for business efficiency and IT developers.

News of the Coinbase listing sent the price of Aergo soaring from a low of $0.19 to as high as $0.26 today before correcting. AERGO is up 21.92% on the day and trading for $0.24.

Also surging is the resource-sharing Golem (GLM) which provides for users in need of additional computing power.

According to the project website, the Golem network is an open-access and censorship-resistant protocol that aims to connect users through a “flexible” and open-source platform.

Golem initially vaulted 22.7% from $0.44 to $0.54. GLM remains up 11.3% and priced at $0.49.

Cross-chain bridge Synapse (SYN) has also seen gains on the announcement, rising 11.2% from $1.95 to $2.17 at time of writing.

Also getting the green light from Coinbase is Status Network (SNT), which offers users a secure messaging app, Web3 browser as well as a crypto wallet.

Status Network has seen some chopping upward price action over the past day, initially rising 10.9% from $0.055 to $0.061, before correcting to its present valuation of $0.058.

Ethernity Chain (ERN), another altcoin listed by Coinbase, offers non-fungible token (NFT) enthusiasts access to authenticated and fully licensed digital trading cards. Among its offerings are NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal and NFL quarterback Dak Prescott.

Ethernity Chain has actually dropped 11.7% from $5.73 to $5.06 over the past day.

Aioz Network (AIOZ), also added to Coinbase’s platform, is a content delivery network that distributes bandwidth while lowering costs.

The project website says it’s fully interoperable with the Ethereum and Cosmos blockchains, and able to provide instant finality and low transaction fees.

Upon news of the Coinbase announcement, Aioz Network initially sent the altcoin soaring 38.4% from $0.13 to above $0.18. AIOZ is currently priced at $0.17, up 29.37% on the day.

Last on the list is the open-world metaverse game Highstreet (HIGH) which offers virtual real estate and an online shop featuring authentic, limited edition products. Gameplay can be done via VR on standard computers as well as on smartphones.

The price of Highstreet initially cratered 15.2% from $4.28 to $3.63 but has since recovered some of its losses back to $3.81.

Meanwhile, the crypto king Bitcoin is up 1.9% in the last 24-hours, at $38,829, with Ethereum (ETH) up 2.1% at $2,580.
