Coinbase is one of the early start ups in the crypto industry and the first cryptocurrency platform that went public. In the current scenario the platform has more than 73 million verified users. However, this weekend the platform’s official website went dark following its ad during the NFT Super Bowl. Indeed, the ad was one of the handful of high profile cryptocurrency commercials. As the $14 million worth advertisement debuted during the event, the exchange’s all platforms faced high traffic and were forced offline.

According to many, the ultra minimalistic retro-styled ad evoked early computer or console games from the 1970s and 1980s.
However, as the advertisement went live to hundreds of millions of homes in the United States, many Twitter users began to report issues connecting to the platforms of the exchange.
It is the first ad which the crypto assets exchange has spun up for the sporting event.
Coinbase’s stability is being questioned
The difficulties being faced by the users of the platform calls the stability of Coinbase into question. Many users began to concern that the platform is not stable during times of large site traffic. It is also observed that the platforms were shut down on several occasions over the past couple of years.
Following the influx causing the platform to go down, Surojit Chatterjee, Chief Product Officer at Coinbase tweetedly unveiled that the platform had experienced more traffic than it ever had encountered. Ultimately, the engineers then had to throttle traffic.
Issues have been fixed
The issues lasted only for a few minutes and were resolved successfully. Chatterjee announced that the platform are back and ready for the users along with the promo page that featured “Less Talk, More Bitcoin”.
However, at the time of writing the platform was facing concerns with Google Pay and directed customers to use alternative payment methods.
