Cardano open-source wallet sees performance improvements

Cardano is one of the major blockchain projects in the crypto ecosystem. The founder of the project, Charles Hoskinson, has recently underscored a massive performance improvement for the project’s native cryptocurrency’s open-source wallet Daedalus. Input Output Hong Kong (IOHK), the firm behind the blockchain has announced the release of a new version of the ADA wallet, 4.8.0 Cardano mainnet. Indeed, the improved version of Daedalus is exciting for the community.

What does the Daedalus v4.8.0 seek?

The latest release of Daedalus seeks to integrate the latest version of the blockchain wallet. Notably, the version will support Cardano node v1.33.0 and will bring about significant performance improvements.

Moreover, the Daedalus v4.8.0 will also allow computers with less than 16 GB of RAM the option to enable the Cardano node runtime system (RTS) with a new splash screen displayed to help reduce memory usage.

Cardano wallets count surpasses 3 million

The latest update of the Daedalus ADA wallet came following the Cardano wallet count achieving a new milestone. Notably, ADA wallets have recently surpassed the benchmark level of 3 million users. The number of the ADA wallets has increased significantly over the past one year. The entire scenario for the blockchain has witnessed tremendous growth.

The total number of the wallets was 2.5 million late last year. However, since the beginning of this year, more than 500k ADA wallets have been added.

Cardano’s Basho phase unfolds

In the beginning of this year, the brains behind Cardano highlighted 11 ways that they intend to scale. Among the ways, one is the Hydra solution, which is a collection of Layer 2 solutions aimed at improving network security and scalability.

The rapidly growing blockchain is at the foothills of Basho. Notably, the phase is all about scaling the entire network and optimizing with smart contracts that were already integrated last year. Along the roadmap of the project, the Hydra Head is going to be the first suite of protocols and a significant element of the journey.

It is noteworthy that the protocol was already shaped up in 2020 as per the team behind Cardano.
