Web3 is gradually coming into the picture of the Tech world. And now, some of the leading internet players are getting into it. Opera, the Norwegian-based internet browsing company, has recently announced BETA testing a new crypto focused browser. It will be available instantly for Windows, Mac, Mobile phones and PC.
This crypto-based browser has the ability to change the whole crypto search scene as it is built around Web3 technology. Hence, it will deliver a new web experience.

Opera browser has recently integrated a crypto wallet and a web3 support in their web browser. It aims to boost the adoption of the next generation web. The increasing interest in the decentralized future grows for the web, and the world’s moving fast towards technology. It has also become important for web browsers to integrate blockchain technology for product development and applications.
If the content served by a web browser is web3 friendly, then it would be pretty interesting to see how other browsers will try to jump in the race. Apart from Opera, there are other leading browsers with a pretty good market share. With Google Chrome having a 63% global market share solely on mobile devices, it’s quite clear that it is indeed the dominant one in terms of browser solutions. Safari has 25.61%, Opera has 2.02%. Although Opera’s market share globally might look small, it has considerable users and a Twitter following of around 630k.
What the project offers:
Though Google Chrome and Safari remain the dominant web browsers, the innovations and worldwide users of Google make it the best one today. But the increase in Blockchain technology and its adoption has not yet started in the existing browsers.
According to Opera Blog, they invite the blockchain community to join their mission to change this. Starting with the Crypto browser project. If they have to take web3 beyond great ideas, they need to craft projects in that direction, where crypto enthusiasts are embraced. Even those who are just willing to explore the space. They believe that the blockchain world needs a wholly dedicated browsing experience.
This project is designed to work in alignment with various decentralized apps(dApps). They are following a multi-chain strategy and are partnering with Polygon, Nervos, Solana, Unstoppable Domains, Handshake, Celo and ENS and are also working on others. The browser will have a corner for accessing recent happenings about the crypto world like events, news, airdrops etc. The Opera also provides a non-custodial wallet for accessing crypto and signing in dApps directly from the browser without the need to install any extensions.
The users are continuously looking for ways to secure their data and utilize blockchain solutions. This integration of blockchain technology might only help Opera increase user trust and maybe grow worldwide users.
