Nasdaq stock exchange has partnered with digital asset infrastructure company Talos to integrate the Calypso risk and collateral platform along with the Trade Surveillance system into Talos’s institutional trading and portfolio tools. The integration, announced on Monday, aims to provide institutional customers with an integrated workflow for tokenized collateral management and market abuse monitoring in both crypto and traditional assets. According to Nasdaq’s internal research, approximately $35 billion in collateral is tied up in interest-free corrective measures.
Nasdaq-Talos Integration’s Institutional Advantages
Talos customers will be able to monitor suspicious tactics such as wash trading, spoofing, and layering on the platforms they have access to. Both companies aim to bring institutional-level compliance and market integrity to digital assets. This integration bridges traditional finance and crypto by increasing the liquidity of tokenized collateral.
Market Abuse Examples in the Crypto Market
Crypto history includes examples like Coinsquare’s 90% wash trading confession, the FTX collapse tied to the FTT token, and Chainalysis’s 2024 report of $51 billion in illicit volume. Talos completed its Series B round reaching $150 million in January. BlackRock CEO Larry Fink stated in his shareholder letter that tokenization is modernizing the financial system.
