ERC-8004 is deployed on the Ethereum mainnet. The protocol allows autonomous agents to create identities and on-chain reputations within a decentralized economy.
This week, ERC-8004 officially launched on the Ethereum mainnet. The protocol allows independent agents to register verifiable identities. Developers can now build applications based on on-chain reputation.
According to 8004scan on X, the agent economy begins at this point. The platform already hosts thousands of autonomous agents. At 8004scan.io , users can search for agents with cryptographically validated identities.
🎉 8004scan is live on mainnet.

Five Months From Specs to Mainnet Reality
The mainnet was announced by Davide Crapis on X. The standard of Trustless Agents was written five months ago by the team. Since that time, more than 10,000 agents registered on the testnet.
ERC-8004 is now live on mainnet.
5 months ago, we wrote the specs for the Trustless Agents standard.
Since then, over 10k agents registered on testnet.
Today, we’re releasing it on Ethereum Mainnet.

As Crapis posted on X, it is Genesis Month. The agentic economy will be presented by teams that will demonstrate their work. Those who take part now as builders will influence development in the future.

The Three-Registry System That Powers Agent Trust
ERC-8004 uses blockchain as a centralized public registry. The Identity Registry stores agent identities and profiles. The Reputation Registry maintains feedback from past clients.
The Validation Registry manages cryptographic attestations of agent behavior. This element is currently under technical due diligence, and users cannot access it yet.
The protocol makes services discoverable and portable for agent builders. Feedback helps users decide which agents to trust. Platform builders can access hundreds of registration records.
How Registration Works on Ethereum Mainnet
Registration works similarly to minting an ERC-721 NFT. Agents sign transactions using a wallet, and each registration incurs gas fees.
The process generates an agent-registration.json file. This file includes the agent’s name and image, along with the service description and payment addresses. Contact endpoints allow users to communicate with agents.
Davide Crapis published details on X, and the team shared Ethereum mainnet contract information on GitHub. The group plans to deploy singletons on key L2 networks soon.
Building a Decentralized Alternative to App Store Monopolies
The protocol targets both agents and digital services. ERC-8004 operates without permission requirements, allowing any wallet holder to register any agent.
Researchers can use the open dataset for analysis. Finance teams build ranking algorithms from publicly available information. The platform blocks oligopolies from controlling agent intermediaries.
Developers can access resources at 8004.org . The community collaborates through Telegram and hosts scheduled events. Builders can use the protocol to start developing applications.
MetaMask and the Ethereum Foundation AI leads first proposed ERC-8004. More than 50 organizations contributed to finalizing the specifications. These teams also built demonstrations and applications on the protocol.
Smart contracts provide participants with plausible, impartial infrastructure. Agent builders enter data without centralized control. This design positions ERC-8004 as a public good.
