Whenever Bruno Mars returns and releases new music, Americans perk up and pay attention. His track record is so solid that if he announces a tune, there’s a good chance that the music industry prepares itself for not just a hit, but a smash.
Mars has done it again with “I Just Might,” the first single from his upcoming album The Romantic. “I Just Might” opened at No. 1 on a number of Billboard rankings last week, including the Hot 100 and the Streaming Songs, and Digital Song Sales charts, and it narrowly missed out on launching within the top 10 on the Radio Songs roster.
“I Just Might” surges in its second frame on that competitive tally, and as it climbs, the single helps Mars advance again on the list of the most successful musicians in the ranking’s history.
Bruno Mars’s “I Just Might” Jumps Into the Top 10 at Radio
In only its second turn on the Radio Songs chart, which lists the smashes that reach the largest total audiences across the nation, “I Just Might” breaks into the top 10. The single improves from No. 12 to No. 9, becoming the singer-songwriter’s twenty-first appearance between Nos. 1 and 10.
Bruno Mars Passes Lil Wayne
As “I Just Might” ascends, Mars breaks out of his tie with Lil Wayne. As recently as last week, the two were matched with 20 top 10 successes on the Radio Songs chart apiece. The pair jointly claimed the seventh-most top 10s on the ranking among all acts and the third-most when looking only at solo male stars.
Bruno Mars Joins Justin Bieber And Beyoncé
Mars is now on the same level as both Justin Bieber and Beyoncé, as the trio of musicians claim 21 top 10s on the Radio Songs chart. All three powerhouses share the honor of having charted the fifth-most top 10 singles.

Rihanna continues to lead all artists with a milestone 30 top 10 hits on the Radio Songs chart. Her record won’t be matched for some time, as the runners-up – Drake and Mariah Carey – are steady with their 24 placements inside the uppermost tier. Taylor Swift also settles ahead of Bieber, Beyoncé, and Mars with just one additional tune.
Bruno Mars and The Romantic’s Singles Ahead
Mars will likely produce at least one more single from his upcoming album The Romantic, if not several, and there’s a good chance that each and every one of them will become radio successes – and perhaps even top 10s. By the time the Grammy winner is finished promoting the full-length, he may very well have advanced again on the important all-time ranking, pushing past Bieber and Beyoncé and potentially even Swift.
How Many Radio Songs Chart No. 1s Does Bruno Mars Have?
Throughout the past decade and a half, Mars has been a musical superstar, he has sent 28 tracks to the Radio Songs chart, and only seven of them have failed to crack the top 10. Of his tunes that have reached the loftiest space, 10 have spent time at No. 1. That’s the third-most impressive accumulation of champions, behind Rihanna and Mariah Carey with 13 and 11 respectively.

In addition to the non-genre-focused Radio Songs chart, “I Just Might” also appears on half a dozen additional lists that look only at radio attention. The cut appears only manages to also appear inside the top 10 on the Adult Pop Airplay ranking, but it comes within striking distance of that tier on the Adult Contemporary, Rhythmic Airplay, and Pop Airplay rosters, where it settles at Nos. 11, 11, and 13 respectively. “I Just Might” climbs to new peaks on each and every airplay roster in its second week and will likely continue to grow in popularity.
