Thirty holes into the Tomorrow Golf League (TGL) season, the formerly last-place Boston Common sits atop the leaderboard after a big win over The Bay Golf Club.
The team of Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott, Hideki Matsuyama, and Keegan Bradley failed to win a single match during the 2025 inaugural season but has bounced back in 2026, defeating both Los Angeles Golf Club and The Bay Golf Club—ranked first and second in total points during the 2025 season, respectively.
“It’s been a long time coming for Keegan (Bradley) and me to get a win,” McIlroy said. “A lot of quality shots, a lot of birdies and eagles, hammers thrown and bullets dodged. It was back and forth. It was certainly fun to play.”

An addition to the 2026 roster, Michael Thorbjornsen has made an immediate impact, filling in for Scott and Matsuyama, who have been absent due to long commute times and global commitments.

In his debut, Thorbjornsen’s putter seemed unstoppable, becoming the first player to roll in four consecutive putts from beyond 10 feet. With the match tied after team play, he won both of his singles matches on the 12th and 15th holes to secure the victory in one of the most heated matches of the season.
“We had a really good chance the whole day to kind of pull away and get a couple of points ahead, and it didn’t go our way,” Sahith Theegala said. “These boys did so well, and it’s so fun going to battle with these guys.”

Thorbjornsen continued his strong putting performance against The Bay, sinking a 14-footer after Min Woo Lee narrowly missed a 24-foot putt that would have tied the hole.
“Michael (Thorbjornsen) has been so good in here around the greens,” Bradley said. “He’s also pretty good on the long shots too. He’s an incredible player. Been great to get to know him—nice New England kid. Go Pats!”
