‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4 Gets A Summer Release With New Photos

The popular television motto “Richmond Till We Die” is ringing more and more true, as Ted Lasso season four was just announced for a summer 2026 release on Apple TV.

With a whopping 61 Emmy nominations and 13 wins, the global hit comedy series returns, surrounding the AFC Richmond football (soccer to the U.S.) club, its players and its leadership staff – but this time around, with an evolving twist.

Following the triumphant rise of the men’s team, based out of London, season three concluded with Sudeikis’s Ted Lasso character deciding to leave the AFC Richmond team to get back to his young son, living in the states. As shared in a new release from Apple TV, season four finds Ted returning to AFC Richmond and “taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.”

Sudeikis reprises his titular role as the cheerful and unconventional coach, while Hannah Waddingham is back as AFC Richmond club owner Rebecca Welton. Others returning for season four include actors Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, Jeremy Swift and Annette Badland.

New faces joining this Apple TV television universe include Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsey, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern and Grant Feely. Ted Lasso was developed by Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Joe Kelly and Brendan Hunt, while based on the preexisting format and characters from NBC Sports.

It is unclear yet if additional original cast members including Phil Dunster, Nick Mohammed and Toheeb Jimoh will also reprise their roles. Season four filming is currently underway around England, with previous locations including Kansas City, Missouri.

Since the pilot episode first premiered on Apple TV on August 14, 2020, Ted Lasso has become a cultural phenomenon, celebrated by critics and audiences alike. With its sharp writing, powerful acting and tight-knit production, fans have been hoping for more AFC Richmond story since the season three finale episode premiered on May 31, 2023. Now three years later, season four will soon return to our screens – though an exact summer premiere date has yet to be confirmed.

Goldstein continues to serve as a writer and executive producer alongside Leann Bowen, with Sarah Walker and Phoebe Walsh writing and producing season four. Julia Lindon is also a writer, with Sasha Garron co-producing the upcoming episodes and Dylan Marron serving as the story editor.

Season four adds Emmy winner Jack Burditt as an executive producer under a new overall deal with Apple TV. Burditt is previously known for his work on 30Rock, Modern Family and Nobody Wants This. Sudeikis, Hunt, Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee and Bill Wrubel all serve as executive producers. Lawrence remains an executive producer with his Doozer Productions colleagues Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer, in association with Warner Bros. Television.
