The British Academy of Film and Television Arts is announcing the nominees for its 2026 awards celebration on Tuesday.
The nominations for the EE BAFTA Awards come five days after the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced its nominees for the 2026 Oscars. Sinners scored a record-breaking 16 Oscar nominations, followed by One Battle After Another with 13 nominations, and Frankenstein, Marty Supreme and Sentimental Value earned nine nods apiece.
The nominations for the 2026 EE BAFTA Awards will be announced by The White Lotus Season 3 star Aimee Lou Wood and Alien: Romulus star David Jonsson at 12 p.m. in the U.K, which is 7 a.m. ET/4 a.m. PT in the U.S. The nominations announcement will stream live on the BAFTA YouTube channel and on the BAFTA X account.
The 2026 BAFTA Film Awards are set for Sunday, Feb. 22, in London. The awards are annually voted on by industry professionals who are BAFTA members.
There are six nominees for most of the categories for the BAFTAs, whereas the Oscars have five nominees for each category with the exception of Best Picture, which has 10 nomination slots.
In addition, most BAFTA nominees are selected from longlists of 10 candidates, with the exception of Outstanding British Film, which has 15 candidates.
Also, the Best Animated Feature and Animated Short categories only have six potential nominees on the BAFTA longlists, which results in a fewer number of nominees in each category. The same goes for the Best Children’s & Family Film longlist, which only has eight candidates.
The 10 potential nominees for the six BAFTA Best Film slots are The Ballad of Wallis Island, Bugonia, Frankenstein, Hamnet, I Swear, Marty Supreme, Nuremberg, One Battle After Another, Sentimental Value and Sinners.
In 2025, the BAFTA Best Film award went to the Ralph Fiennes papal thriller Conclave.
One Battle After Another leads all potential BAFTA Film nominees after it made the cut in 16 longlist categories, while Sinners and Hamnet were next by making 14 longlists each.
See all of the longlists for the 2026 BAFTA Film nominations listed below.
