Migration’ New On Streaming This Week, Report Says

Gerard Butler’s post-apocalyptic thriller Greenland 2: Migration is reportedly coming to digital streaming this week.

Greenland 2: Migration premiered in theaters nationwide on Jan. 9. The official synopsis of the sequel to 2020’s Greenland reads, “In the aftermath of a comet strike that decimated most of the earth, Greenland 2: Migration follows the Garrity family (Butler, Morena Baccarin and Roman Griffin Davis) as they’re forced to leave the safety of their bunker in Greenland to traverse a shattered world in search of a new home.”

The film, which is directed by Greenland filmmaker Ric Roman Waugh, also stars Amber Rose Revah, Tommie Earl Jenkins, Sophie Thompson, Trond Fausa Aurvåg and William Abadie.

Rated PG-13, Greenland 2: Migration is set to arrive on digital streaming via premium video on demand on Tuesday, Jan. 27, according to When to Stream reported. While it is typically accurate with its PVOD reports, When to Stream noted that Lionsgate, the studio that produced Greenland 2: Migration, has not announced or confirmed the release date and it is subject to change.

Greenland 2: Migration will be available on a variety of digital platforms, including Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Prime Video and YouTube Movies & TV for $24.99 to purchase.

Gerard Butler Says ‘Greenland 2: Migration’ Has A Different Feel In Comparison To The Original Film

Greenland 2: Migration is set five years after 2020’s Greenland, and as such, the time between the two films presented Gerard Butler and his fellow creatives the opportunity to present a story different from the original film.

“I think that we really wanted to try and make a different kind of disaster survival thriller in the first movie,” Butler told Space.com in an interview earlier this month. “It wasn’t all about these big special effects.

“It was really taking it from the emotional, personal, intimate point of view of a family and then seeing it through their eyes, watching the fabric of society break down, and seeing how different people reacted to the situation as society falls apart,” Butler added in the Space.com interview. “Which way do they go? Do they decide to help, be a giver, be of service? It felt like it made the experience much more grounded, even if it was messier.”

Greenland 2: Migration is reportedly set to arrive on PVOD on Tuesday.
