Starting Price, On Sale Date, And More

The Opening Ceremony for the 2026 Winter Olympics is just over three weeks away, so it’s understandable if the 2028 Summer Games in L.A. are not top of mind. But if you’d like to attend any of the events at LA28, now is the time to begin thinking about tickets.

The process surrounding buying tickets to the Olympics and Paralympics is not similar to that of a general sporting event. There is a ticket draw, and registration for it officially opened this week. Fans who are interested in buying tickets must register for the ticket draw at Tickets.LA28.org for the chance to obtain a time slot in which to purchase tickets when Drop 1 goes on sale starting April 9, 2026.

Applicants have until March 18 to register for one of those time slots, which will be open between April 9 and April 19. They will be notified by email from March 31 to April 7 if they’ve been assigned a time slot.

But there are other ways to attend the Games, from locals-only ticket draws to hospitality packages. Here is everything you need to know about buying LA28 tickets.

LA28 Olympics Ticket Draw

Register for the official ticket draw at Tickets.LA28.org. Registration opens January 13 and runs through March 18. Time slots to purchase tickets during Drop 1 will run from April 9 to April 19, and applications will be notified by email between March 31 and April 7 if they’ve been assigned a time slot.

Tickets to all events, as well as for the Opening and Closing Ceremony, will be available in the first drop.

If you’re not selected for the first drop, you’ll be automatically entered into future draws. Similarly, if you do not purchase the maximum amount of tickets allotted (12 per person) during that slot, you will automatically be entered into subsequent draws. However, capacity may be filled or limited in future drops.

LA28 Paralympics Ticket Draw

Tickets for the LA28 Paralympics will go on sale in 2027.

Locals Presale

The locals presale runs from April 2 to April 6, prior to Drop 1 going live on April 9.

Residents who register for the ticket draw with billing postal codes in designated counties are automatically entered into the draw for the presale and can secure a time slot during a special early-access window.

To be eligible, you must have a billing zip code in the following California counties: Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, Ventura and San Bernardino.

You’re also considered a local if you’re from one of three Oklahoma counties: Oklahoma, Canadian and Cleveland. Why? The venues for softball and canoe slalom are located in Oklahoma City.

LA28 Ticket Prices

Full details about ticket price tiers for the LA28 Games won’t be made public until the first ticket drop is live. However, organizers have said that ticket prices will start at $28, and 1 million tickets at that price will be included in the locals presale. Of the 14 million or so tickets that will be made available, one-third will be priced under $100.

Olympics tickets are sold in tiers (e.g., Category 1, 2, 3 and 4 or Category A, B, C and D), with 1 or A being the most expensive seats and 4 or D being the most affordable. Fans will be able to see venue maps to see the general location of tickets in each category prior to purchasing tickets.

For the Paris 2024 Games, tickets purchased through the early ticket draws started at around 20 euros for qualifiers and 100 euros for finals. However, resale tickets came at a premium cost; secondary tickets for the men’s basketball gold medal match between the United States and France were listed at 1,087 euros.

LA28 has shared that AXS and Eventim will be its preferred secondary ticketing provider. The two companies formed a partnership to make tickets available globally for the 2028 Games.

Hospitality Packages

Once again, On Location will be the hospitality partner of the LA28 Games, as it was for Paris 2024 and will be for Milano Cortina 2026.

Hospitality packages include tickets to events and encompass access to public lounges (lower cost) to private suites (highest cost). Deposits are currently being accepted.

The deposit for standard packages is $1,000, and premium suite packages will run you $10,000. The deposits are fully refundable but will give you early access to the hospitality offerings when they go on sale.
