Cobra OPTM And Callaway Quantum Revealed Through USGA Listings

Two major golf brands landed new drivers on the USGA’s conforming list this week: the Callaway Quantum and the Cobra OPTM.

Initially photographed in all black, the Cobra OPTM has been seen on tour and is reported to follow the familiar color-coding of previous models—red for MAX-D, silver for MAX, blue for X, and all-black for LS. The new driver line features a carbon crown, and some models include one or two small movable weights.

Currently seen only in black, the Callaway Quantum is expected to serve as the brand’s all-around model, with Max and Max-D variants designed for more forgiveness.

The Triple Diamond series—engineered to provide lower spin and greater workability for better players—will also return with a standard Triple Diamond, a larger Max Triple Diamond, and a Triple Diamond Tour Draw.

The Max and TD models feature multiple movable weights (one on the sole and one on the rear), while the Max-D and left-handed TD-TD models include only one movable weight located on the sole.

Callaway does not disclose revenue by individual product lines, but the company did report a modest increase in overall sales in its Q3 2025 investor report. Strong PGA Tour visibility and a consistent presence across YouTube golf content have kept the brand top-of-mind among consumers.

Cobra, on the other hand—operating under Puma SE—saw a slight decline in sales in 2024. Recent struggles by Cobra-sponsored athletes Max Homa and Rickie Fowler have limited the brand’s visibility during major broadcast windows.

Cobra’s 2025 model, the ADAPT, is priced at $549.00 and currently discounted to $429.00. Callaway’s 2025 driver, the Elyte X, is priced at $619.99 and discounted to $499.99. Both brands are expected to raise prices slightly for their 2026 offerings.

Historically, both companies release their new club lines in January or February.
