Stray Kids Extend Historic No. 1 Record, Ending Taylor Swift’s Winning Streak

Stray Kids run the Billboard 200 again this week, as the South Korean boy band’s new EP Do It debuts at No. 1 on the list of the most consumed albums in the United States. The short set earns the vocal troupe yet another champion, helping the singers further their lead over all other K-pop acts when it comes to the most leaders on the highly competitive albums tally.

Do It is another massive success for the band, one which puts a stop to Taylor Swift’s winning streak and yet again proves how popular the troupe is all around the world, and especially in America.

Stray Kids Return to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with Do It

Do It launches atop the Billboard 200 with one of the more impressive starting sums of 2025. The five-song set arrives with 295,000 equivalent units shifted. That figure is made up almost entirely of pure purchases, as Luminate reports that Do It sold 286,000 copies in its first full tracking period, while streaming activity made up much of the rest.

How Many No. 1 Albums Have Stray Kids Charted in America?

Stray Kids have now collected eight No. 1s on the Billboard 200. Amazingly, the band has yet to send any recording to the chart and have it miss running the show, as all of the group’s eight projects have led the charge for just one week. Here is a rundown of all the No. 1 albums Stray Kids have charted in the U.S.:

  • Karma
  • Hop
  • ATE
  • Rock-Star
  • 5-Star
  • Maxident
  • Oddinary
  • Do It

Stray Kids Chart Multiple No. 1s for a Fourth Year in a Row

The year 2025 is now the fourth in a row in which Stray Kids have earned multiple No. 1s on the Billboard 200. Every year, the K-pop favorites debut two titles in the highest rung, a trend that began in 2022 and could continue for years to come, as the superstars show no sign of slowing down – nor does the K-pop craze that has overtaken America.

It’s Only Been Three Months Since Stray Kids Last Hit No. 1

It has only been three months since Stray Kids earned the group’s most recent No. 1, Karma. That album launched at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 dated September 6, and the current list is dated December 6.

Stray Kids Extend The Lead Over BTS

Karma helped Stray Kids break out of a tie with BTS to claim the most No. 1 albums among K-pop acts when it debuted. As Do It arrives, the band furthers that lead, but that gap may extend again in just a few months.

BTS reunited earlier in 2025 after all seven members completed their mandatory military enlistment in their home nation of South Korea. A new album is expected at some point in 2026, and it will almost certainly launch atop the Billboard 200 with a massive first-frame sum.

Stray Kids Become the First Act to End Taylor Swift’s Run at No. 1

Do It ends Taylor Swift’s run at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, as The Life of a Showgirl steps out of the spotlight for the first time since it debuted atop the tally in mid-October. The Life of a Showgirl dominated for seven consecutive frames, and it could return to the top spot as the title continues to perform well.

The Life of a Showgirl arrived with more than four million units, becoming the first album in U.S. history to hit that landmark number in just one week. In the most recent period, the blockbuster shifted another 86,000 equivalent units, dropping to No. 3 as the Wicked: For Good soundtrack starts in the runner-up spot.

Stray Kids Also Launch Do It At No. 1 on the Sales Chart

Do It also opens at No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart, where Stray Kids have not managed a 100% sterling record. The band is up to eight leaders, as is the case on the Billboard 200, although the group’s Go Live peaked at No. 26 in the summer of 2020 when the outfit was first introducing itself to American consumers. Since then, every release has spent at least one turn — if not several — at No. 1.
