The official summary for the movie reads, “Two months after the events of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Ethan Hunt (Cruise) and the Impossible Mission Force (IMF) continue their search for the Entity, a terroristic AI that has infiltrated intelligence networks across the globe. As pressure mounts while Hunt and his team are pursued by governments, ghosts from his past emerge in the latest installment of the iconic action spy series.”
Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning also stars Dead Reckoning cast members Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Henry Czerny, Greg Tarzan Davis, Shea Whigham and Angela Bassett. Holt McCallany, Janet McTeer, Nick Offerman, Tramell Tillman and Hannah Waddingham are among the new cast members for the latest Mission: Impossible installment.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning will make its streaming video on demand debut on Paramount+ on Thursday, Dec. 4, the platform recently announced.

How Did ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ Perform In Theaters?
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning ended its domestic box office run Aug. 14 after 84 days in theaters with $197.4 million in North American ticket sales. Combined with the film’s international take of $393.9 million, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning ended up with a worldwide box office tally of $591.3 million.
The eighth and possibly last movie in Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible franchise, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning had a production budget of $400 million before prints and advertising costs, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film earned an 80% “fresh” critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 428 reviews. The RT Critics Consensus reads, “Gargantuan in action, runtime, and scope, The Final Reckoning is a sentimental sendoff for Ethan Hunt that accomplishes its mission with a characteristic flair for the impossible.”
Viewers, meanwhile, gave the film an 88% “fresh” Popcornmeter score on RT based on 10,000-plus verified user ratings.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning makes its SVOD debut on Paramount+ on Thursday.
