Fortnite Zero Hour Live-Event

The massive Chapter 6-ending live-event “Zero Hour” just went down in Fortnite. If you missed the event, it’s still definitely worth watching. This was one of the craziest, most epic Fortnite live-events ever.
The event begins with players bouncing between random, brief scenes featuring brief cameos of crossover characters. A giant Homer Simpson. The KPop Demon Hunters. Players become Fall Guys momentarily before teleporting to various concerts with Playboi Carti and Hatsune Miku.
The Star Wars “Imperial March” plays as you teleport into space next to some ominous Star Destroyers. Even the Kpop Demon Hunters make an appearance.

Pretty soon, the event’s Big Bad shows up: A gargantuan, tentacled monster with tusks and four arms, towering over everything.
The ensuing battle is enormous. Players are aided by a host of massive champions. King Kong, Godzilla, Optimus Prime – even that giant Homer Simpson. They’re all dwarfed by the monster. Watch the whole thing in the below video:

Fortnite is currently down, though players will be able to load up Season 7 later today when servers go back online.
Chapter 7, Season 1 is titled“Pacific Break” and has a Hollywood / Los Angeles theme. Apparently players will surf into matches rather than deploy via the Battle Bus. There are also wingsuits you can fly around with that look pretty awesome.
Here’s the surfing in action:

This was definitely one of the best live events Fortnite has put on in a long time, though I’ll always have a soft spot for the big rocket event that took place back in Season 4 of the very first Chapter. The Visitor launched a rocket that created a massive rift in the sky above the island. It’s pretty tame in comparison to what we participated in today, but there was something magical about the experience. We’d simply never seen anything like it before.
I don’t play Fortnite nearly as much as I did back then, but there’s no denying Epic Games continues to work tirelessly to bring new gameplay mechanics, crossovers and impressive live-events to the game season after season. Zero Hour was certainly no exception.
