After breaking down three defenses to stash for Week 14 of the fantasy football playoffs, it only felt right to address the kicker position as well. Although kicker is streamed quite as much as defense, there are certainly fantasy teams that look to the waiver wire for the position.
With that being the case, here’s some help to get you an edge for the fantasy football playoffs. Just like defense, the requirement for this article is that all kickers must be under 50% rostered on ESPN.
1. Will Reichard vs Washington Commanders (18.9% Rostered)
One of the best tools for these articles is from FantasyPros, which breaks down how many PPG a team has allowed to a certain position. Now that we have a really good sample size of what teams are beneficial for kickers and which aren’t, this list holds a lot of value.
When trying to find these sleepers that should be available in almost every league, points allowed to kickers is the metric we’ll be focusing on.
Will Reichard should be the kicker that you’ll want to add if possible. Reichard provides a mix of proven production with 9.1 PPG and a great Week 14 matchup.
Reichard and the Minnesota Vikings take on the Washington Commanders, who have allowed 9.9 PPG to kickers, which is the 5th most in the NFL. Reichard has scored at least nine points in six different games this year. It seems like there’s a strong chance that he’ll go over that mark in Week 14.
With Reichard only being rostered in 18.9% of leagues, you should stash him on your bench before it’s too late.
2. Harrison Mevis @Arizona Cardinals (24.9% Rostered)
In Week 14, Harrison Mevis and the Los Angeles Rams take on the Arizona Cardinals, who have allowed the 3rd most PPG to kickers this year at 10.5
Not only that, but Mevis has a solid floor regardless of matchup, averaging 7.3 PPG on the week, so it’s unlikely he’ll lose your week at the very least. Coming off a 13-point performance in Week 12, Mevis is a great stash for your fantasy team.
3. Riley Patterson @ New York Jets (1.1% Rostered)
If Reichard, who is rostered in 18.9% of leagues, and Mevis, at 24.9% aren’t available, Riley Patterson absolutely should be. Right now, Patterson is rostered in just 1.1% of fantasy football leagues, but he’s a strong option as well.
Patterson has scored at least nine points in five games this year, and he’s averaging 7.4 PPG on the year. Although that on its own isn’t super impressive, the matchup is worth noting.
Patterson and the Miami Dolphins face off against the New York Jets, who have given up the 2nd most PPG to kickers at 9.9.
All things considered, Reichard is my favorite pick, and he’s the main kicker that you should actively be looking to make room for on your bench. Outside of that, Mevis and Patterson are both strong options, but neither is as good as Reichard.
Regardless, all three players are strong options if you’re looking for a kicker to stash for your fantasy football playoffs in Week 14.
