This Saturday features some of the most storied rivalries in all of college football. Auburn vs. Alabama in the Iron Bowl is among the highly-anticipated annual matchups regardless of each program’s win-loss record. The teams first played in Feb. 1893 when the Tigers beat the Crimson Tide 32-22.

The Crimson Tide travel to Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Ala. to face the Tigers in the 90th edition of the Iron Bowl. The annual post-Thanksgiving Day game concludes the 2025 college football regular season for both of the Southeastern Conference teams.
Alabama, which leads the all-time series against Auburn with a 51-37-1 record, has won five consecutive games in the rivalry, including last year’s 28-14 victory in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The last time that the Tigers defeated the Tide was 2019 in a 48-45 thriller.
Currently, Alabama has a 9-2 mark and is No. 10 in the College Football Playoff rankings. The team’s lone conference loss (23-21) came at the hands of Oklahoma two weeks ago at Bryant-Denny Stadium. If the postseason started today, the Tide would likely play a first-round game on the road.
Meanwhile, Auburn is 5-6 in 2025 and needs a victory this weekend to reach bowl eligibility. The Tigers fired head coach Hugh Freeze in early November following a 15-19 record over the past two-plus seasons. Auburn football hasn’t had a winning record since the 2020 campaign when the team finished 6-5.

Kickoff for the annual Iron Bowl contest is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Chris Fowler will serve as the game’s play by play caller alongside veteran analyst Kirk Herbstreit and sideline reporter Holly Rowe — the trio serves as ABC/ESPN’s top college football broadcasting group.
Alabama is a 5.5-point favorite against Auburn, according to the most recent betting odds from FanDuel Sportsbook. The over/under for Auburn vs. Alabama is currently at 46.5 points. Eight of the nine college football experts at CBS Sports picked Alabama to win this year’s Iron Bowl. Per FanDuel, the Tide sit at +1700 to win the College Football Playoff Championship, good for the eighth favorite in the country.
