Today’s NYT Strands hints and answers
Credit: New York Times
When I’m not writing NYT puzzle guides for daily Wordles, Strands, Connections, Pips or Mini Crosswords, I write a lot of streaming guides for new shows and movies and whatnot. Today, Wednesday November 26, is a very big day for TV. So many shows are dropping new episodes today, which is a little surprising given that Netflix is releasing the first Volume of Stranger Things 5 today as well. I think I could spend all day watching new shows and not have enough time unless I skipped sleeping, eating and work.
In any case, we have some words to uncover and a Strands grid to solve before we can get our TV fix. Let’s get to it!

How To Play Strands
Strands is the newest game in the New York Times’ stable of puzzle games. It’s a fun twist on classic word search games. Every day we’re given a new theme and then tasked with uncovering all the words on the grid that fit that theme, including a spangram that spans two sides of the board. One of these words is the spangram which crosses from one side of the grid to another and reveals even more about the day’s theme.

Today’s Strands Breakdown
Once again, I got the spangram first. The moment I looked at the grid I saw PASS and kept going and found ENGER and kept going and saw TRAIN. PASSENGERTRAIN, just like that. This made finding the next few words, like COACH, DINING and QUIET quite easy, though even after I found SLEEPER, the final word eluded me. One thing I do with words that I simply cannot unscramble is type out all the letters. The act of typing out the letters, even randomly, often makes it clear. OBSERVATION, I observed, was the final word.
