For more than a decade now, 5 Seconds of Summer has reigned as one of the most popular pop/rock bands in the world. The group’s sound has changed quite a bit since the beginning, but the outfit’s popularity has not dwindled.
The troupe’s latest full-length, Everyone’s a Star!, becomes an instant bestseller in the United Kingdom this week as it arrives, debuting at No. 1 across multiple tallies at the same time. 5 Seconds of Summer racks up what must be an impressive sales count with Everyone’s a Star!, as it easily commands multiple sales-only rosters, helping the rock musicians find their way back to the top spot on several tallies they have led before.
Everyone’s a Star! Launches at No. 1 on Several Charts
Everyone’s a Star! debuts at No. 1 on three charts in the U.K. this week. The title opens at No. 1 on the Official Albums, Official Album Sales, and Official Physical Albums tallies.

5 Seconds of Summer has earned four No. 1s on all three of those rankings. The group has led the charge with Sounds Good Feels Good, Calm, 5SOS5, and now Everyone’s a Star! On some lists, the band is up to half a dozen top 10s, while on others, just five, as titles like 5 Seconds of Summer and Youngblood also spent time between Nos. 1 and 10.
Everyone’s a Star! Misses No. 1 by One Space
Everyone’s a Star! comes very close to ruling two other rankings, but misses out by just one space. The latest from the Australian boy band arrives in the runner-up spot on both the Official Album Downloads and Official Vinyl Albums charts this week.
While Everyone’s a Star! kicks off its time at No. 2 on both of those rosters, different releases beat it to the summit. On the Official Album Downloads list, Now That’s What I Call Music! 122 starts at No. 1. Over on the Official Vinyl Albums roster, Familiar to Millions by Oasis breaks back in at the summit.

5 Seconds of Summer Underperforms on Streaming
It’s clear that sales did most of the work in turning Everyone’s a Star! into a top performer in the U.K. The set is a top two win on every ranking where pure purchases play a role, while the title underperforms on the Official Albums Streaming chart. On that roster — which looks only at how full-lengths and EPs perform on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music — the latest from 5 Seconds of Summer begins in the lowly position of No. 64.
5 Seconds of Summer Reaches a New Career Low
5 Seconds of Summer has now sent half a dozen projects to the Official Albums Streaming chart, and Everyone’s a Star! is easily the worst performing of the bunch. Before this week, the group’s five other collections had all cracked the top 40, and three had spent time inside the top 10. 5 Seconds of Summer even climbed as high as No. 2 a decade ago.
“Start Over,” “Chest” and “I”ll Find You” Becomes Top Sellers
Four songs featured on Everyone’s a Star! become bestsellers as well, as 5 Seconds of Summer fans apparently love to show their support by purchasing not just albums, but individual tunes as well. The tracks “Start Over,” “Wishful Dreaming,” “Chest,” and “I’ll Find You” all launch on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads charts. In each case, the tracks get off to a top 40 start. 5 Seconds of Summer has now accrued more than 30 hits on both tallies, passing that milestone thanks to this latest grouping of strong sellers.
Interestingly, though, none of the four tracks that become bestsellers this week reach the Official Singles chart, the main ranking of the most consumed tunes throughout the nation. None of the singles pushed from Everyone’s a Star! have become breakout successes, but clearly that hasn’t hurt the Australian band’s charting chances very much.
