15 New TV Shows To Watch This Week On Netflix, Apple TV, Prime Video, HBO Max, Paramount+ And More

It’s a big week for new TV shows, though the majority of the following guide includes shows that are already streaming. Some are nearing their season finales, others are there already and some have just started. Netflix has its biggest drop of the year and Apple TV, Paramount and HBO all have incredibly strong rosters at the moment.

The big days for TV releases this week are Sunday and Wednesday. Wednesday was already packed with options, but with a new animated series and one of Apple’s shows getting bumped up to avoid the holiday, it’s bigger than ever. And, of course, there’s Stranger Things Season 5 which drops Volume 1 this Wednesday as well.

Check out my weekend streaming guide right here for brand new TV shows and movies, and let’s dive right in!

Sunday, November 23

Landman — Season 2, Episode 2 (Paramount+)

Billy Bob Thornton’s Landman – one of three Taylor Sheridan shows airing this Sunday – was met with quite a lot of backlash after the Season 2 premiere thanks to the portrayal of two of its female leads. We’ll see if the Texas oil drama can win back lost affection in its second episode.

IT: Welcome To Derry – Season 1, Episode 5 (HBO Max)

IT: Welcome to Derry is a fun horror prequel to the Stephen King book and films and I’m enjoying it for the most part despite some genuinely goofy looking CGI and occasionally week writing. I’ve decided that I need to watch it less as a prestige drama and more as a campy horror show. We have a few episodes left to see what happens, though given its a prequel, we kind of already know.

The Chair Company – Season 1, Episode 7 (HBO Max)

Tim Robinson’s The Chair Company keeps going in the wildest, most insane directions imaginable and this might be the first show in a very long time where I truly have no idea how it’s going to end, what the conspiracy is all about, or even what the heck is going on half the time. It’s brilliant and hilarious and weird. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Robin Hood – Season 1, Episode 5 (MGM+)

I’ve still only watched the first two episodes of MGM’s Robin Hood series. I was just so put off by the weird historical revisionism – not to Robin Hood himself, who is a fictional character, but to the entire English people, who are portrayed as pagans in the year 1200. Don’t you think that’s just a little bit strange? I think that’s very strange.

Tulsa King — Season 3 Finale (Paramount+)

Sylvester Stallone’s Taylor Sheridan mobster series wraps up its third season this weekend. Paramount has renewed the series, so this isn’t goodbye. There’s also a new spinoff in the works following Samuel L. Jackson’s character called NOLA King.

Mayor of Kingstown – Season 4, Episode 5

The third Sheridan show airing this Sunday is Jeremy Renner’s crime drama, Mayor of Kingstown. Honestly, I can’t keep up with all these Sheridan shows! I’m not sure how he does it, quite frankly. He’s also writing the upcoming Call Of Duty movie.

Monday, November 24

Bel-Air – Season 4 Premiere (Peacock)

I really don’t know much about Bel-Air and haven’t watched any of its prior seasons, but if you’re a fan of the show, or simply curious about it because you used to love The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, the fourth season kicks off this Monday on Peacock.

Wednesday, November 26

Pluribus – Season 1, Episode 5 (Apple TV)

Pluribus is getting moved up to Wednesday this week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. I suspect that means the new episode of Vince Gilligan’s oddball sci-fi series will actually be available Tuesday evening, but don’t quote me on that. Normally, new episodes of the Rhea Seehorn series drop Fridays but are available to stream Thursday night.

Palm Royale – Season 2, Episode 3 (Apple TV)

Kristen Wiig’s high society period drama continues airing its second season on Apple TV. This is another one I haven’t had time to get around to, but the costumes look fantastic and Wiig is always delightful. The series has a very solid supporting cast as well.

Down Cemetery Road – Season 1, Episode 6 (Apple TV)

I’ve really enjoyed Down Cemetery Road so far. This is another Apple TV adaptation of Mick Heron’s books, though as interesting as it is, it’s no Slow Horses. Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson star. It’s a very twisty-turny investigation / conspiracy thriller, though it’s not too overly serious despite quite serious subject matter.

The Mighty Nein – Season 1, Episodes 4-6 (Prime Video)

The first three episodes of Critical Role’s The Mighty Nein were absolutely fantastic. While the characters of Vox Machina are dearer to my heart, and I’m only just getting to know these new characters, I find the storytelling itself to be a bit more mature and compelling and the world itself feels more original and unique. I think we’re in for a real treat. The next batch of three episodes lands on Wednesday. You could basically spend all day Wednesday watching new episodes of six different shows and you probably wouldn’t have enough time.

Stranger Things – Season 5, Volume 1 (Netflix)

This is the big one. This is the one everybody will be chattering about, hosting watch parties, stream-alongs, reaction videos and meme-making parties. Stranger Things has been three years dormant and now, finally, we get the first four episodes of Season 5 this coming Wednesday. The next three drop on Christmas Day and the series finale, “The Rightside Up”, lands on New Year’s Eve. What will happen to Eleven, Mike, Will, Max and the big, bad Vecna? We’ll find out soon enough.

The Beatles Anthology – Docuseries (Disney+)

For Beatles fans, Wednesday won’t be about evil entities from the Upside Down, it’ll be all about John, Paul, George and Ringo. Beginning Wednesday, this new docuseries drops three episodes every night for a total of nine episodes (ending on Friday). Nine episodes all about The Beatles and their music. I’m not even the hugest Beatles fan and this sounds pretty great.

Thursday, November 27

Blue Lights — Season 3, Episode 3 (BritBox)

The best cop show on TV, Blue Lights reaches the halfway point of Season 3 this week. The series is set in Belfast and follows a crew of police officers as they navigate various threats in a city still feeling the effects of the Troubles. It’s one of my favorite shows on TV at the moment and one that I keep telling everybody to watch. Season 3 continues to be just as great as the first two.

Saturday, November 29

Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking – Season 2, Episode 5 (HBO Max)

I’m into Harry Potter more than I am into baking, though I’ve been known to make bread and cookies from time to time. But put the two together and you have a magical baking show that’s currently a few episodes into its second season. Check it out on Food Network or HBO Max.

That’s all folks! If you’re excited about any of these or if I’ve missed something you’d like to see added to the list, let me know on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook.
