Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s odd run of new episodes for South Park begins heading down its final stretch next week.
Following on the heels of the Skydance Animation and Paramount Global merger that guaranteed Parker and Stone $1.5 billion over the next five years, South Park returned to Comedy Central on July 23 with its 27th Season and began streaming new episodes on Paramount+ on July 24.
From there, however, the schedule remained iffy, as the show, without explanation, began airing new episodes every other week and even took a three week break at one point because Parker and Stone missed a deadline. Without any formal announcement, South Park ended Season 27 after its fifth episode on Sept. 24 and took another three-week break before kicking off Season 28 on Oct. 15.
After that, South Park Season 28 Episode 2 was originally set to air on Oct. 29, but in another last-minute move, the show pushed the episode back two days and dubbed it a special Halloween episode.
Season 28, Episode 3 was then released as planned on Nov. 12, bringing back some normality to the South Park schedule that has been anything but consistent. In fact, the only consistency the show has had in 2025 is Parker and Stone’s weekly full-frontal comedic assault on President Donald Trump, members of his administration, his policies and MAGA supporters. The two even managed to sneak in some shocking scenes in Season 28, Episode 3 that involved the president and Vice President JD Vance.
Barring any further last-minute changes, South Park Season 28 is planning to air on the previously announced dates for its penultimate episode and its season finale.
When Is South Park’s Next New Episode Set To Air?
According to an updated schedule released on South Park’s social media accounts on Sept. 17, Season 28 will resume on cable’s Comedy Central on Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The episode will then begin streaming on Paramount+ on Thursday, Nov. 27 — Thanksgiving Day — on Paramount+ at 6 a.m. ET/3 a.m. PT.
South Park Season 28 will then wrap up with Episode 5 — its season finale — on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central and 6 a.m. ET/3 a.m. PT on Paramount+.
No details have been announced yet for either episode, but they are sure to be Trump-related, especially given the ongoing storyline about the pending birth of Trump and Satan’s baby — that is, unless Vance, Peter Thiel and a possessed Cartman can prevent the arrival of the Antichrist.
All episodes in the first 27 seasons of South Park and the first three episodes from Season 28 are streaming on Paramount+.
