Lady Gaga’s ‘Mayhem’ Reappears At No. 1 Following Her Historic Grammy Nods

Lady Gaga released her most recent album Mayhem more than half a year ago, but in some ways, the full-length is only just now hitting its stride. The singer-songwriter has been promoting the set since the summer of 2024, when she doled out lead single “Die With a Smile” alongside Bruno Mars. Since then, multiple dance-pop cuts have been shared from the project, and it continues to perform well around the world.

In the U.K., Mayhem rocks back onto multiple tallies this frame, and Gaga’s newest project, which recently earned a boost thanks to several Grammy nominations, even finds its way to No. 1.

Mayhem Returns to No. 1 After Months Away

On the Official Vinyl Albums chart, which ranks the bestselling full lengths on wax throughout the U.K., Mayhem reappears out of nowhere and conquers the tally again. The set debuted at No. 1 back in March and has now spent seven frames somewhere on the vinyl-specific tally. The title was last found on the roster in May, and it has been six months since it was a vinyl bestseller.

How Many No. 1 Vinyl Albums Has Lady Gaga Charted?

Throughout her career, Gaga has sent eight releases to the Official Vinyl Albums list, and only two have hit No. 1. Chromatica marked her first, while Mayhem became not only her second leader, but it is now her only effort to manage more than one stay at the summit.

Lady Gaga’s Mayhem Becomes a Top 10 Bestseller Again

A sizable uptick in purchases on wax helps Mayhem blast back onto both the Official Album Sales and Official Physical Albums charts in the same position. Gaga’s Grammy-nominated effort returns at No. 5 on the two purchase-focused rosters.

Lady Gaga’s Latest Album on the Charts

Mayhem has experienced essentially the same performance on both the Official Album Sales and Official Physical Albums charts. The effort hit No. 1 and has spent 31 weeks on the two rankings, and it now returns to the same rung.

Mayhem Bolts North on the U.K. Albums Chart

Mayhem also climbs dramatically on the Official Albums chart, which is a consumption-based tally that shows what the British public is listening to. This week, 29 frames into its time on the roster, Mayhem rockets from No. 65 to No. 14.

Purchases appear to be the main driver of the set’s current success, as it lives inside the top five on a trio of sales tallies, while simultaneously dropping from No. 62 to No. 78 on the Official Albums Streaming list.

“The Dead Dance” and “Die With a Smile” Help Fuel Mayhem

Three songs by Gaga live on charts in the U.K., and while most of them are declining on every tally on which they can be found, the fact that several come from Mayhem is less than surprising and helps explain, in part, why the album is performing so well. “The Dead Dance” slips outside the top 40 on the Official Singles chart after receiving a Halloween-related boost, while both that cut and “Die With a Smile” appear on two sales-focused lists.

Gaga’s only other hit at the moment is “Born This Way,” the title track from her second full-length, which holds on inside the top 40 on both the Official Physical Singles and Official Vinyl Singles charts.

Grammy Nominations Boosts Mayhem’s Sales

Mayhem’s vinyl sales may also be connected to Gaga’s recent run of Grammy nominations. The singer is one of the most-nominated artists at the 2026 ceremony, with seven chances to add some gold to her trophy shelf. Mayhem is up for both Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album, while “Abracadabra” is in the running for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Dance Pop Recording. Fellow single “Disease” could snag Best Pop Solo Performance, while her only other nod is for a separate album, Harlequin, which was tied to her role in the movie Joker: Folie à Deux.
