Marjorie Taylor Greene Says She’s Receiving Threats—Blaming Trump

Topline

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., said she’s received “a hot bed of threats” that “are being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world,” after President Donald Trump attacked her in a series of social media posts Friday and Saturday—marking a breaking point for the one-time allies.

Key Facts

Greene said Trump’s “aggression against me . . . also fuels the venomous nature of his radical internet trolls,” adding, “as a woman I take threats from men seriously,” while comparing herself to Jeffrey Epstein’s victims, writing that she now has a “small understanding of the fear and pressure” they “must feel.”

Greene’s comments come after Trump coined a new nickname for the Georgia congresswoman on Saturday, “Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Green [sic],” calling her a “disgrace to our GREAT REPUBLICAN PARTY.”

On Friday, Trump suggested Greene should face a primary challenge, calling her “wacky,” writing, “if the right person runs, they will have my Complete and Unyielding Support.”

The feud between Trump and Greene boiled over Friday after Greene repeatedly criticized Trump’s handling of the Epstein files, his economic messaging strategy and focus on foreign policy.

Greene hit back at Trump in a post on X, alleging he “just attacked me and lied about me,” while accusing Trump of coming after her to intimidate other Republicans ahead of next week’s House vote on whether to release the Epstein files.

Crucial Quote

“I have supported President Trump with too much of my precious time, too much of my own money, and fought harder for him even when almost all other Republicans turned their back and denounced him,” Greene wrote.
