Google Finance is incorporating prediction market data from Kalshi and Polymarket in its search results over the coming weeks as part of a new AI-powered upgrade.
The update will allow users to ask questions in simple language and see real-time market probabilities with historical trends in the Google Finance search tab.
Google Finance To Feature Prediction Market Data
Google Finance is incorporating prediction market data from Kalshi and Polymarket in its search results as part of a new AI-powered upgrade. The addition allows users to view real-time probabilities for future market events directly within the platform. According to an announcement by Google, prediction market data from Kalshi and Polymarket will be available to users in the next couple of weeks. Users will be able to view market odds and track how price forecasts have shifted directly through Google’s search bar.
The update integrates current market probabilities directly into the Google Finance search box, allowing users to chart how odds change in real time. Users can ask questions, and users will display the latest pricing from the market alongside recent sentiment shifts. Google stated that the move brings event odds into everyday workflows for investors, researchers, and crypto investors who already track markets.
Relevant Data In Real Time
Once operational, Google Finance users will be able to ask questions in natural language and receive the relevant data, including point-in-time probabilities and historical ranges. Several brokerages have also partnered with prediction markets. Robinhood partnered with Kalshi in August to offer contracts on professional and college football. Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev said during the company’s latest earnings call that “prediction markets are fire,” indicating rising popularity. Numbers have backed the statement, with weekly turnover across prediction markets topping $2 billion in late October.
Regulatory outlook is shifting too, with Polymarket re-entering US markets. Polymarket was banned from serving US customers by the CFTC in 2022.
Could Prediction Markets Become A Core Market Metric?
Competition in the prediction market space is growing, with Gemini preparing to roll out prediction market contracts, subject to market approval. Approval would put the platform alongside Kalshi and Polymarket in an increasingly competitive market segment. Kalshi and Polymarket’s integration with Google Finance could also tighten the loop between price discovery and public data, making market odds from specialized sites available to regular users through a simple search.
If the integration with Google Finance is successful, prediction markets could become a default data point alongside stock quotes, bond yields, and exchange rates.
