Predator: Badlands, a reboot of the Predator movie franchise starring Elle Fanning, is new in theaters this weekend. When will it be available to watch at home?
Rated PG-13, Predator: Badlands opens in theaters nationwide on Friday. According to the film’s official summary, Predator: Badlands “is set in the future on a remote planet, where a young Predator (Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi), outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia (Elle Fanning) and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary.
Directed by Dan Trachtenberg (Prey), Predator: Badlands is the sixth film in the franchise that began with Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Predator in 1987, followed by Predator 2 (1990), starring Schwarzenegger and Danny Glover.
Next up was Predators (2010), followed by The Predator (2018), Prey (2022) and the animated feature Predator: Killer of Killers (2025). In addition, Predator characters have appeared in both Alien vs. Predator (2004) and Alien vs. Predator: Requiem (2007).
Currently, the only way you can see Predator: Badlands is in theaters, so check your local listings for showtimes.
When Predator: Badlands comes to the home entertainment marketplace, the first place it will be available will be on digital streaming via premium on demand.
The latest Predator chapter comes from 20th Century Studios, which is a Disney Studios subsidiary. As such, all Disney company films have a two-month window from the time they are released in theaters to the time they arrive on PVOD.
For example, 20th Century Studios’ Alien: Romulus was released in theaters on Aug. 15, 2024, and debuted on PVOD on Oct. 15, 2024. More recently, the studio’s The Amateur premiered in theaters on April 11 and arrived on PVOD on June 10.
Should Predator: Badlands follow the same release pattern, viewers can expect the film to debut on PVOD sometime around Dec. 9, since new movies generally premiere on digital platforms on Tuesdays.
When Predator: Badlands arrives on PVOD, it will be available on such platforms as Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Prime Video and YouTube. New PVOD titles generally cost anywhere from $19.99 to $29.99 to purchase and $14.99 to $24.99 to rent for a 48-hour period.
Which Streaming Service Will Get ‘Predator: Badlands’ First?
Since Predator: Badlands is being released by Disney subsidiary 20th Century Studios, the film will first be available on Disney+ in the streaming platform’s Hulu section.
Generally, it takes 20th Century Studios releases about three months from the time they open in theaters to when they arrive on streaming video on demand Hulu on Disney+. For example, Alien: Romulus, which was released in theaters on Aug. 16, 2024, arrived on Hulu just over three months later, on Nov. 21, 2024.
In addition, The Amateur, which was released in theaters on April 11, made its debut on SVOD just over three months later on Hulu on July 17.
Should Predator: Badlands follow the same SVOD release pattern, viewers can expect the movie to arrive on Hulu on Disney+ sometime around Feb. 10, 2026, since new SVOD releases generally debut on the platform on Thursdays.
