EJAE
KPop Demon Hunters’ vocalist and singer-songwriter EJAE has found her voice with debut single, “In Another World.”
The song has been streamed over 7 million times across all major streaming platforms since its release two weeks ago. The original video has been streamed over 2 million times, and its reach has extended beyond YouTube to include multiple social media platforms.
To celebrate the release and success of the single, EJAE has released a behind-the-scenes mini-documentary detailing the creative process behind the song and its music video.
In the mini-doc, she reveals a more vulnerable side to herself, detailing the significance of the song and what inspired it. She relates it to her personal story, hoping it’ll resonate with others, reminding them that we have those quiet moments imagining the life we didn’t live, but also “realizing it’s okay to miss something, and that in another world, maybe it would/could be perfect.”
“My fans have connected so deeply with ‘In Another World,’ and it’s been so touching to see the KPop Demon Hunters community rally around me,” she says, in an exclusive quote. “I wanted to put out a little more content for them, this behind-the-scenes video, as a thank you.”
Directed by Bryant Hyun, the three-minute video is narrated by EJAE, detailing her musical journey with the song as she interacts with the crew behind the scenes of the shoot. There are cute interactions between EJAE and her fiancé, Sam Kim, as they sit next to each other at the piano, and another as he cheers for her from the stands. Though the doc is short, it showcases an intimate and personal side to EJAE, following her heart and her dreams.
“We compiled all the B Roll from the shoot, and my amazing director, Bryant, put something together that I’m obsessed with!” she adds. “I hope fans like watching the process and the laughs, the love, and the heart that went into bringing my first music video to life.”
