Today, the Qtum Foundation announced the release of Qtum Ally, a next-generation desktop AI agent that aims to advance intelligent automation beyond simple conversational tools.

Because Ally runs on Windows and Mac, consumers have greater control, privacy, and performance than with most cloud-based assistants. Ally facilitates the smooth integration and coordination of multiple AI models, based on the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This global interface standard enables AI systems to communicate with external data and tools.

Ally is a single, user-friendly desktop application that comes preinstalled with 12 top large language models (LLMs). It enables users to host their own models, connect MCP servers, and create sophisticated, multi-model workflows.

“Qtum Ally makes productivity about orchestration, not overload,” said Miguel Palencia, Co-Founder of Qtum. “By bringing multiple LLMs into one refined workspace powered by MCP, we give users real control and simplicity. Ally eliminates clutter and turns AI into a genuine performance multiplier.”

Beyond Chat, Actionable AI

The Model Context Protocol (MCP), which Qtum Ally fully supports, enables AI models to do more than produce text; they can also carry out coordinated activities.

Similar to the “USB-C of AI,” MCP serves as a universal connector that enables models to exchange information and send commands across internet services, software tools, and APIs.

Using Ally’s built-in MCP hosts and servers, users can automate multi-step workflows, integrate multiple AI models for reasoning, planning, and execution, and perform tasks with minimal input—for example, locating available rentals, creating a presentation, and automatically emailing it.

Ally has multiple MCP hosts pre-configured, allowing users to install additional ones easily. Ally becomes a configurable automation center as each host offers distinct features to link local databases, APIs, or internet data sources.

Data privacy and desktop control

Qtum Ally ensures data privacy, transparency, and control by operating locally rather than on the cloud. It is compatible with both Windows and macOS, runs offline for reliable and secure performance, and only collects the personal data necessary for the models.
The long-standing Qtum tenets of user autonomy, decentralization, and open standards align with this local-first design.

Get Free Access to Premium AI

In addition to being free to download and use, Qtum Ally offers users free access to premium features from popular models, including ChatGPT-5, Qwen, DeepSeek, Claude, and Gemini, for a limited time.
