Mr. Scorsese, a five-part documentary about film icon Martin Scorsese featuring several of his closest collaborators, is new on streaming.
The summary for Season 1 of the docuseries partially reads, “Mr. Scorsese is a cinematic portrait of a man through the lens of his work, exploring the many facets of a visionary who redefined filmmaking, including his extraordinary career and unique personal history.
“With exclusive, unrestricted access to Scorsese’s private archives, the documentary series is anchored by extensive conversations with the filmmaker himself and interviews with friends, family and creative collaborators.”
Mr. Scorsese features interviews with Robert De Niro, Daniel Day-Lewis, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mick Jagger, Robbie Robertson, Thelma Schoonmaker, Steven Spielberg, Sharon Stone, Jodie Foster, Paul Schrader, Margot Robbie, Cate Blanchett, Jay Cocks and Rodrigo Prieto.
In addition, Mr. Scorsese includes interviews with the filmmaker’s wife, Helen Morris, and his children, as well as the director’s close childhood friends.
All five parts of Mr. Scorsese were released on Apple TV (formerly Apple TV+) on Friday. For viewers who aren’t subscribers to Apple TV, the platform is an ad-free streaming platform that costs $12.99 per month after a free seven-day trial.
