K-Pop Workshop Offers Fun Way To Learn Korean Culture And Grammar

Love k-pop but wish you had a better idea of what those lyrics meant? Or perhaps you’d like to watch your favorite Korean drama without having to read all the subtitles. A workshop given by The Korea Society offers k-media fans a chance to learn Korean grammar, expressions and culture via first through fifth-generation idol groups, solo artists, drama sound tracks and classics. Lyrics will be used to guide participants in uncovering everyday language, cultural references and advanced grammar patterns.

Featured artists include BTS, NCT, H.O.T., Girls’ Generation, EXO, SEVENTEEN, NewJeans, TWS, All Day Project, AKMU, and J-Rabbit. Each lesson highlights key grammar points and expressions, with opportunities to discuss how music reflects Korean society and daily life. On Nov. 6 participants can explore several k-pop songs by SEVENTEEN, 1-LIT, BTS, AKMU, TWR and H.O.T. On Nov. 13 fans can learn more about parts of various k-pop songs by artists such as IU, Girls Generation, OLDEF, Zion.T and NCT.
