During the 1970s and 80s, designer Bob Mackie’s name was synonymous with unapologetic glamour, pop culture, and spectacle. Music and television stars needed fashion, and he delivered. Cher has counted on Mackie to dress her for decades, in between his sketches for Marilyn Monroe and Zendaya. This fall, Mackie will join Christian Siriano aboard Cunard’s Transatlantic Fashion Week 2025, when the Queen Mary 2 becomes a floating fashion capital.
In many ways, Christian Siriano has taken the mantle as today’s top fashion disruptor, dressing Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Sarah Jessica Parker, Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama and Kamala Harris, among many. He is regarded as a champion of body inclusivity, dressing celebrities with fuller figures on the runway and red carpet in his signature atelier of old Hollywood glamour.
Neither designer has been more accessible to his fans and customers than they will be between Oct. 31 and Nov. 7, when Cunard’s Transatlantic Fashion Week voyage will sail from New York for the first time aboard the iconic Queen Mary 2. Siriano and Mackie will headline the luxury cruise.

To further elevate the landmark voyage, Julien’s Auctions will host an intimate conversation with Mackie and unveil a curated exhibition of pieces selected from his personal archive. They will also auction select sketches, signed by Mackie, giving collectors a rare chance to own a piece of fashion history. Guests will also be treated to a special screening of the documentary “Bob Mackie: Naked Illusion,” followed by a live Q&A with the designer himself.
“I’ve always believed fashion should be fabulous and a bit fearless, and a ship as glamorous as Queen Mary 2 offers the perfect setting to showcase these designs and connect with fellow fashion lovers,” Mackie said in a press release announcing the cruise.
Siriano will do his first-ever runway show at sea, featuring highlights from his 16-year archive and introducing a custom piece that “draws inspiration from the sea and celebrates classic glamour synonymous with Cunard.”
Liz Fettes, SVP, Commercial, Cunard North America and Australasia, said their Transatlantic Fashion Week voyages typically sail at full capacity (around 2,600 guests).
“While many guests sail for the Crossing experience itself, we do see a significant portion joining specifically for the fashion programming, reflecting the unique appeal of this curated experience,” Fettes said.

Transatlantic Fashion Week began in 2016, combining the glamour of fashion with the excitement of a transatlantic crossing to create a unique voyage where guests can enjoy exclusive runway shows, designer talks, and immersive fashion experiences while sailing between New York and Southampton. Fettes said many guests sail for the Crossing experience itself, but “we do see a significant portion joining specifically for the fashion programming, reflecting the unique appeal of this curated experience.”
Past voyages have welcomed an array of esteemed designers, models, and fashion experts. Notable names include Julien MacDonald OBE, Stephen Jones OBE, Stuart Weitzman, Pat Cleveland, Dame Zandra Rhodes, along with industry insiders who contribute to the dynamic programming onboard.

Coco Rocha will also attend this year’s cruise. The supermodel will lead a series of workshops, including a taste of the first “Coco Rocha Model Camp” at sea. But the real treat will be the week-long pairing of Siriano and Mackie — two generations of A-list designers coming together for a celebration of fashion in a unique setting.
“Bob Mackie is an iconic figure whose legendary creations have defined red carpet glamour for decades, while Christian Siriano represents the modern evolution of fashion, known for bold design and inclusivity,” Fettes said. “Together, they create a dynamic dialogue between fashion history and contemporary innovation, offering guests an unparalleled insider perspective.”
Whether bidding on a Mackie sketch, attending a modeling workshop, or merely mingling with attractive and well-dressed guests, this year’s Transatlantic Fashion Week 2025 promises to be a cut above.
