Bitget has announced support for UNICEF’s first global Game Jam, a 40-day virtual hackathon across eight countries. The event aims to inspire young people to create original video games while learning digital and blockchain skills.
UNICEF, Bitget Partner on Blockchain Education Initiative for Youths
According to the media release, the partnership reflects Bitget CEO Gracy Chen’s effort to connect blockchain technology with education and youth empowerment. Learning digital skills at an early age, says Chen, is important to creating an excellent future. She says that children in the developing world do not always get these opportunities. Hence, blockchain can open new opportunities to generate new ideas and launch new businesses.
As a strategic partner of the UNICEF Game Changers Coalition, Bitget will use its educational arm, Bitget Academy. The academy will help build UNICEF’s first blockchain training module.
The program combines online and in-person learning based on video game development. Bitget’s contribution will help UNICEF reach 300,000 people. These include young girls, parents, and teachers, with blockchain knowledge across multiple countries.
Bitget Expands Blockchain4Her With Lady Forward Campaign
Chen explained that blockchain education could break cycles of poverty by giving young people skills to participate in the global economy. She called for making the digital space more inclusive especially for women and sections of the population that continue to be marginalized.
This collaboration is a part of an overarching project called Lady Forward operated by Bitget under its Blockchain4Her program. This operates collaboratively with universities, provides internships, and conducts leadership courses. It supports women in building networks in the blockchain sector; developers, investors, entrepreneurs or policymakers.
Bitget’s 7th anniversary vision highlighted this broader strategy. It shows how these initiatives connect to its global growth plans.
Chen also works in schools. She is a blockchain lecturer at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Her courses combine case studies and real-life projects. She trains students to become leaders in digital finance.
Bitget Invests In the Innovators of The Future
Bitget has joined hands with UNICEF to expand its reach globally. In addition to trading, Bitget pledges to assist the educational needs of 1.1 million individuals globally through blockchain education. It hopes to achieve this objective by 2027.
Other sports teams, including LaLiga and MotoGP, are already part of this initiative. Bitget sponsorship of the Smarter Speed Challenge at the Catalunya MotoGP further highlights its Web3 adoption strategy.
The UNICEF Game Jam is a new initiative to unite technology, education, and empowerment. It combines blockchain and video game development to make learning more entertaining and accessible.
The program targets teenage girls because UNICEF wants to end gender inequalities in technology. Bitget said its help goes beyond sponsorship. It sees the project as an investment in future blockchain inventors. The company believes through projects like the Game Jam can help improve blockchain adoption while catering to social needs.
