Research suggests that crypto traders are divided on whether AI can really do better than humans, even though exchanges are rushing to add it to their platforms. However, there are still issues about whether these tools really help people make better decisions or just add to the excitement.
Amid this discussion, BingX debuted BingX AI Master earlier this September, calling it the world’s first AI-powered trading strategist, and said it was a big step forward from regular bots.
In this exclusive interview with BeInCrypto, Vivien Lin, Chief Product Officer at BingX and Head of BingX Labs, talks about how BingX AI Master gives both beginners and experts the right tools. She also shares her thoughts on how AI could change trading in the future and where its role might be overstated.
Many exchanges are experimenting with AI features. What user pain points or gaps did you see that convinced BingX to build BingX AI Master — and to position it as a strategist rather than just another tool?
Vivien: “For us, it started with a simple question: what does it really mean to have financial dignity and agency? It means having the knowledge to understand what is happening in the markets, and the ability to act on that knowledge with confidence and control.
But the reality is, too many people enter this space feeling overwhelmed. When we looked at the user journey, the gaps were clear: traders at all levels were drowning in information, but starving for guidance. Traditional bots or dashboards only execute commands, but they do not help users understand why a decision matters or how to adapt when conditions change.
We built BingX AI Master to act as a strategist, not just a tool. It inspires users with ideas, helps them pick the right strategy, and guides them as their skills and portfolios grow. That shift from passive automation to active guidance is what we believe traders were missing most. The tool also serves everyone at any trading level, unlike many tools that cater only to professionals.”
On paper, BingX AI Master combines strategies from five top digital investors with AI optimization. But beyond the marketing, what makes it fundamentally different from existing trading bots or AI products we see in the market?
Vivien: “The key difference is integration and intelligence. Many bots run in isolation, following preset rules without context.
BingX AI Master merges human expertise with machine precision. It draws from more than 1000 strategies tested by top investors, then continuously optimizes them with AI-driven backtesting and real-time market analysis.
It is not just automating trades; it is learning, adapting, and explaining the logic behind strategies, so users are empowered, not just automated.”
Transparency is a core promise of BingX AI Master. How do you ensure that traders don’t blindly follow AI signals, and what mechanisms are in place to help them learn and build confidence along the way?
Vivien: “We made transparency a design principle from day one. Every strategy recommended by BingX AI Master comes with backtesting data, performance history, and risk factors clearly displayed. Traders can review how a strategy is performed under different market conditions before they ever use it.
We also built performance reviews into the product, so users can track their outcomes, learn from their results, and refine their approach. The goal is not to replace judgment, but to strengthen it.”
With more than 1,000 strategies and real-time alerts, personalization could make or break the experience. How does the BingX AI Master product adapt to individual trading styles and risk appetites without overwhelming users?
Vivien: “The 1,000+ strategies inside BingX AI Master are not random outputs; rather, they originate from five top investors, each with a proven track record and distinct investing styles. The AI models learn from their real trading behavior and build on those foundations.
For users, personalization begins with a straightforward choice: selecting one of three investment profiles — aggressive, conservative, or moderate — tailored to their specific goals. From there, the system refines recommendations, alert settings, and execution styles over time.
Just as importantly, users can adjust or override at any point, so they always feel in control. The aim is to deliver the right level of tailored support, rooted in real expertise, without overwhelming traders with noise.”
AI in finance raises questions around responsibility and accountability. How should exchanges like BingX approach the ethical and regulatory considerations of embedding AI so deeply into trading?
Vivien: “Exchanges have to treat AI as both an innovation and a responsibility. That means embedding safeguards, ensuring explainability, and being transparent about what AI can and cannot do.
Regulation in this space is still evolving, so we are proactive in aligning with best practices around data security, fairness, and user protection. AI should not be a black box. Users need to understand how decisions are made, and exchanges must ensure that AI enhances trust rather than erodes it.”
Finally, stepping back from BingX specifically, where do you see AI having the most transformative impact on crypto exchanges and traders in the next two to three years, and where do you think the industry is still overhyping AI’s role?
Vivien: “The biggest impact will be in personalization and decision support. AI can transform exchanges into intelligent ecosystems where every user gets tailored insights, risk management, and learning tools that grow with them. This will make trading more accessible and less intimidating, especially for newcomers. Where the industry risks overhyping AI is in claims of guaranteed profits or fully autonomous trading.
Markets are inherently uncertain, and AI should be seen as a powerful guide, not a “know everything” crystal ball. The real value lies in giving traders clarity, confidence, and control, not false certainty.”
