Global cryptocurrency exchange MEXC has appointed industry veteran Cecilia Hsueh as its new Chief Strategy Officer, as reported on Monday. Hsueh, a seasoned blockchain entrepreneur with a background in finance and management consulting, will lead MEXC’s long-term growth initiatives, optimize global expansion, and oversee strategic positioning as the exchange continues its transition into a full Web3 ecosystem.
Hsueh commented on the new position:
“Over the years, MEXC has been on a path of evolving from an exchange into a comprehensive platform, driven by innovation and expansion, and I look forward to contributing to its evolution into a Web3 ecosystem that empowers users, partners, and institutions worldwide”.
Prior to joining MEXC, Hsueh co-founded Morph, a Layer 2 network focused on real-world blockchain solutions, and played a pivotal role in scaling Phemex from launch to multi-billion-dollar trading volumes. Her combined consulting and entrepreneurial expertise makes her a key addition to MEXC’s leadership team as it seeks to balance rapid growth with operational resilience.
The move follows a string of recent milestones for MEXC. Earlier this month, the exchange reported a record $559 million USDT Insurance Fund and reserve ratios exceeding 100% across all major assets, including 129.8% for Bitcoin and 113.2% for USDT. It has also broadened its derivatives suite, introducing Multi-Asset Margin Mode and the Futures Earn product, which enables traders to earn up to 15% APR on idle margin — features aimed at differentiating MEXC from larger competitors.
With over 40 million users in 170+ countries, MEXC ranks among the fastest-growing global exchanges. While Binance retains the lead in trading volumes and Bybit has aggressively pursued derivatives dominance, MEXC’s latest appointment signals an intent to compete at the top tier by combining product innovation with strategic leadership.
