WWE Wrestlepalooza 2025 Results, Winners And Grades On September 20

WWE Wrestlepalooza 2025 advertised five matches with two titles on the line. The Indianapolis show will see the return of Pat McAfee to the commentary desk, and WWE’s debut broadcast on ESPN is book-ended by the final match between John Cena and Brock Lesnar as well as a WWE Title Match between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre.

In the main event, the announcers focused on Cody Rhodes’ head trauma stemming from getting Claymore Kicked into an announce table on SmackDown. The announcers used similar language about Cody as they did with Jey Uso before Uso lost his world title to Gunther. Barrett and Cole continuously talked about Cody wearing himself too thin, and how he looked “woozy.”

After McIntyre missed a Claymore against the table, Rhodes capitalized with a Cross Rhodes for the win. There were multiple spots in this match where Drew had the match won, only to be thwarted by referee error.

WWE Wrestlepalooza 2025 Winners And Highlights

Brock Lesnar Def. John Cena

  • Pat McAfee returned to the announce desk to a lot of fanfare in Indianapolis. Michael Cole was over the moon. This went head-to-head with Kyle Fletcher’s entrance in the main event of AEW All Out Toronto.
  • Brock Lesnar walked out looking like a tank. He was gigantic. Michael Cole hid in plain sight after being manhandled by Lesnar on SmackDown. After Lesnar filled up the Gainbridge Fieldhouse with intimidation, John Cena made the most babyface entrance ever. Lesnar was accompanied by a group of lookalike children. It was like his WrestleMania 25 entrance, but if it was on Sesame Street.
  • Before Alicia Taylor could deliver her entrance for Brock Lesnar, she was interrupted by none other than Paul Heyman. Heyman delivered an boisterous Brock Lesnar ring introduction, and seeing Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman together on ESPN felt like watching Matt LaFleur and Micah Parsons.
  • Brock Lesnar dominated early, hitting his first suplex within the first two minutes of the match. Lesnar continued his assault with another suplex minutes later. Cena embarked on a furious comeback, bouncing off Brock with three shoulder blocks before Lesnar hit the ground. Cena hit three AAs for a nearfall.
  • A woozy Brock Lesnar battled back, answering with three F-5’s. This is now a massacre. Cut to the children showing concern. Lesnar hit three more F-5’s and easily destroyed John Cena.

John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar Match Grade: A-

The Vision Def. The Usos

  • Both Usos Yeeted in a well-produced, ESPN spectacle. Pat McAfee and Wade Barrett participated as well. Eventually, everybody in the building was Yeeting except one man: special guest referee LA Knight.
  • The Usos donned green basketball-inspired jerseys and shorts. This is ESPN.
  • The Vision took control early as Pat McAfee talked up Bron Breakker and his football background. There was an intentional effort to integrate sports and wrestling from the opening video package.
  • The Vision worked over Jimmy Uso. Jimmy tried to make a tag, but Breakker used Jimmy as a springboard and hit a flying clothesline on Jey. LA Knight counted a nearfall, but Breakker didn’t like Knight’s pacing. The two had a staredown.
  • Jimmy made the hot tag to Jey, who “Yeeted” everything that moved. The Usos set up a table, and referee LA Knight allowed it. Breakker went for a Breakkensteiner on Jey Uso, but slipped a bit and fell on his head. Breakker made up for it with a Spear on Jimmy by Breakker. Jey Uso answered with a Spear on Bron of his own.
  • Jey hit an Uso Splash for a nearfall. Now Jey started barking at LA Knight. Knight argued with Bronson Reed on the outside. Jey Uso dived to the outside and hit Reed, but it looked like he was aiming for Knight.
  • Jey almost accidentally hit Knight with a steel chair. Jey whacked Breakker with a chair, then whipped it into Reed. Jey Uso took a Spear from Breakker. Breakker Speared a bloody Jey—and Jimmy—through a table. Reed hit a Tsunami for the win.

The Vision def. The Usos

Stephanie Vaquer Def. Iyo Sky

  • Michael Cole once again called Iyo Sky the greatest women’s wrestler on the planet right now. As expected, there were dueling chants for the two top babyfaces.
  • Vaquer and Iyo smiled through their opening exchange, which ended in a stalemate. Vaquer laid Iyo out with a forearm and teased the Devil’s Kiss. Sky got out of it, and the two continued to joust. Iyo got the better of the battle with a flying dropkick on Vaquer.
  • Vaquer locked in an armbar over the top rope. Vaquer raked Sky’s eyes with her feet and hit a beautiful running leg drop, shades of Bret Hart. Vaquer twisted up Iyo Sky and punished her with a modified Romero Special. Sky escaped and hit a double underhook backbreaker.
  • “This is awesome” chants emanated as Vaquer hit a springboard cross body on Iyo Sky followed by a snap suplex. The two went back and forth with running strikes against the ropes, but Stephanie once again won the exchange with a back suplex. Vaquer teased another Devil’s Kiss, but Sky countered again. The announcers really talked up Vaquer’s inexperience under the bright lights, and how this was a “learning experience” for her. It was a weird thing to focus on considering how great this match was.
  • Sky was in danger after multiple Dragon screws. Vaquer then finally hit the Devil’s Kiss. Vaquer hit the SVB for a nearfall. Sky came back with a Spanish Fly, selling her leg before making the pinfall. Sky shedded her kneepads and hit a running knee strike followed by a running knee. Sky missed an Over the Moonsault. Vaquer took advantage with an incredible Spiral Tap for the clean win.

Stephanie Vaquer vs. Iyo Sky Match Grade: A+

CM Punk And AJ Lee Def. Becky Lynch And Seth Rollins

Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins were dressed like purple dementors from Harry Potter. After CM Punk’s entrance, AJ Lee skipped out in her vintage Chuck Taylor boots. Lee wanted to start the matchup and the entire arena chanted “AJ Lee.” Lynch was having none of it.

This was a back-and-forth brawl that brilliantly leveraged the emotions of the fans against the story of the match. It took forever for Lee to tag in, with Lynch and Rollins using every heel tactic in the book to keep her at bay. Fans were getting frustrated, in a good way. When Lee finally made the hot tag, it was wild, and the match only leveled up from there.

AJ Lee tapped out Becky Lynch for the win with a Black Widow. For more details on this match, click here.

Stephanie McMahon Is Inducted In The 2026 WWE Hall Of Fame

The Undertaker came out to his American Badass theme song. Undertaker rode a motorcycle around Gainbridge Arena, which is shocking considering what happened with Stone Cold Steve Austin when he crashed his ATV against the barricade at WrestleMania 41 just a few months ago.

Undertaker climbed over the barricade and had an odd conversation with Stephanie McMahon. The two uncomfortably chuckled through bad improv. Undertaker announced that Stephanie McMahon was the first inductee in the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame. It ended up being a very sweet, emotional moment. Stephanie McMahon seemed legitimately surprised.

Cody Rhodes Def. Drew McIntyre

  • Cody Rhodes was cheered during his ring introduction as fans chanted for Rhodes to start the match.
  • Rhodes slipped up early, and Wade Barrett noted how Rhodes didn’t seem as crisp as he usually does. Barrett said he was “keeping an eye” on Rhodes’ stability after getting Claymore Kicked through an announce table. It sounded like WWE was laying the foundation for a possible Rhodes loss.
  • McIntyre had his way with Cody Rhodes, who continued to sell like he had a concussion. The announce team continued to talk up Rhodes’ damage from the Claymore Kick. Combined with Cody’s busy schedule, he’s “wearing himself too thin.” This is the exact language WWE announcers used when Jey Uso dropped the WWE World Title to Gunther.
  • Cody couldn’t put together any sustained offense as McIntyre slammed Cody headfirst onto the steel steps. Cody answered with a superplex, but took a helluva landing as he smashed the back of his head on the ring mat.
  • Cody went into his comeback, as the announcers said “he’s not thinking, he’s just acting.” Rhodes, who was slow to his feet, caught McIntyre with a Disaster Kick. Rhodes went for a Cody Cutter, who suddenly seemed to be closing in on a win.
  • McIntyre and Cody went to the top rope, resulting in a White Noise from McIntyre on Rhodes. McIntyre went for the Claymore Kick, and Cody countered with a power bomb. Rhodes countered a second Claymore attempt with a Figure 4 leg lock.
  • The referee jumped out of the ring after McIntyre whipped Cody into the ropes. McIntyre rolled up Cody, but only for a two count because the referee took an extra second to get back into the ring. More ammo for the ongoing conspiracy against McIntyre.
  • Drew followed up with a Claymore, but for a nearfall. McIntyre went for another Claymore Kick, this time with Cody’s head against the table. The referee tried to stop McIntyre, but Drew dismissed him. McIntyre missed the Claymore, leading to chants of “Ref, you suck!” Apparently there are a lot of Drew Truthers in the building.
  • Drew went for the Claymore, but his bad leg gave out on him. Rhodes hit a supercutter followed by a Cross Rhodes for the win.
