Social media platform X announced that it had identified a “bribery network” linked to cryptocurrency fraud. According to the company’s statement today, some users were tricked into bribing X employees through intermediaries to get their suspended accounts reinstated.
According to information shared by the platform, the suspects in question operate not only on X but also on other platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Minecraft, and Roblox. It has been alleged that these individuals are linked to a larger criminal organization known as “The Com.”
“Legal action has been taken against those involved in these initiatives, and we fully support law enforcement. Our commitment to protecting the integrity of our platform is unwavering,” the statement read.
X, one of the most densely populated cryptocurrency communities, is one of the most popular social networks, along with Telegram and Discord. However, despite increased monitoring efforts on the platform, crypto-related scams remain common.
