Hong Kong–listed Shun Tai Holdings is making a direct push into digital assets, announcing it will allocate 70 million Hong Kong dollars (about $9 million) from internal funds to build its crypto trading business.
The company disclosed to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that it has already begun deploying capital, including purchases of Filecoin (FIL) at $2.1–$2.3 per token. A specialized team has been set up to manage the venture, focusing primarily on established, high-liquidity cryptocurrencies with at least a five-year track record.
The investment strategy will center on Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Binance Coin (BNB), alongside Filecoin. Stablecoins such as USDT and USDC will make up at least 5% of the portfolio to provide balance and liquidity.
Building Out Infrastructure
Shun Tai said it has acquired new equipment as part of its preparations for the venture, signaling its commitment to developing a serious presence in the sector.
The move highlights how traditional Hong Kong companies are increasingly exploring digital assets as part of mainstream investment strategies.
With this latest step, Shun Tai joins a growing number of Asian firms bridging conventional finance with the expanding crypto economy.
