The Summer I Turned Pretty isn’t the only young adult romance worth binging this summer. Netflix’s My Life with the Walter Boys is returning for a new season, featuring another complex love triangle between two brothers. Here’s everything you need to know about Season 2, including release date, cast, plot, trailer and more.

In the first season of My Life with the Walter Boys, viewers were introduced to Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez), a 15-year-old Manhattan high school student who relocates from The Big Apple to Silver Falls, Colorado, after losing her family in a car crash. She moves in with her mom’s best friend, Katherine Walter (Sarah Rafferty), her husband, George (Marc Blucas), and their ten children, ranging in age from five to 21.

Katherine’s two boys — Cole (Noah LaLonde) and Alex (Ashby Gentry) — take an interest in Jackie as she navigates a small-town high school, teen drama, parties and an entirely new family dynamic. Alex makes the first move on Jackie, and they are coupled up for most of the season — until Alex’s older brother, Cole, also takes a liking to her, eventually confessing that he likes Jackie, too.

Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger, with Jackie boarding a plane back to New York City, leaving both Alex and Cole behind in Silver Falls. She left the small town after kissing Cole after confronting him about fixing her sister’s teapot. Alongside the teapot was a note that read, “Nothing is so broken that it can’t be fixed,” a saying Jackie’s late mother used to tell her.

The next morning, Alex woke up and found a note on Jackie’s bed that read, “I’m sorry.” He ran into his brother’s room to confront him with the letter, but Cole was just as surprised that Jackie was no longer there. In the final scene, Jackie and Uncle Richard are on a flight headed back to Manhattan.

What Will My Life With The Walter Boys Season 2 Be About?

Season 2 of My Life With The Walter Boys will follow Jackie after she completes her internship in New York City for the summer and heads back to Silver Falls. As for what draws her out of the city and back to the farm, creator Melanie Halsall said it’s neither Alex nor Cole

“Katherine and Jackie have such a deep connection that it couldn’t have been anyone else,” she said to Tudum. “The conversation they have as Katherine is persuading her is really deep and emotionally touching and sincere. Jackie is ultimately looking for a family, for a mother, and Katherine represents all that — romance aside.”

The streamer also teased that when Jackie returns to Silver Falls, she’ll be meeting a very different version of Alex, who is back from attending cowboy camp in Montana. “The old Alex is pretty much gone,” Ashby Gentry told Tudum, “and I don’t know if he’s coming back.” He teased that his character turned into the “rodeo, popular, attractive, confident Alex of Season 2.”

As for Cole, he’s been waiting to talk to Jackie to clear things up after she quickly left town following their kiss. “There’s this part of him that wasn’t even necessarily conscious of it, but was harboring a silent hope that they both had an understanding that there would be a way to make everything right… To answer questions like, ‘Why did you leave? How do we move forward with Alex?’ And that they could move forward in the way they felt that things should be,” Noah LaLonde explained.
