Attention: Binance Issues Serious Warning Against New Scam Method – It Could Happen to Anyone

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has warned its users about scams involving fake SMS messages.

Scammers try to trick users by sending messages purporting to be from Binance. These messages may claim your account is “at risk” and encourage you to call fake support lines or click on malicious links.

Binance highlighted the following points in its official statement:

  • Binance will never ask you to call a phone number or click on a link via SMS.
  • It never shares or requests sensitive information such as seed phrases or private keys via SMS, phone, or email.

The fake SMSs create a sense of urgency, such as a new device login alert or a withdrawal request, and ask users to call the phone number or click on fake links.

Another thing to be particularly careful about is that messages sent by scammers appear directly on your phone under the name “Binance.” This can be confusing for users.

If you receive such messages, never click on the links or call the numbers provided. Check your account directly using the official Binance app or website.
