Weeks after his death, Ozzy Osbourne, as both a solo artist and part of Black Sabbath, dominates many of Billboard’s rock charts. The grieving will likely continue for some time, and many of both acts’ most famous tunes will continue to find space for weeks, if not months.
Osbourne’s grip on the rock, hard rock, and alternative tallies is loosening slightly, and now there’s more room toward the top of several tallies for other stars, including Billie Eilish, who not only holds at No. 1 but also sees one of her most recent singles return to the top 10 yet again.
Billie Eilish Holds No. 1 Spot and Returns to Top 10
Eilish bookends the top 10 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart this week. The singer-songwriter sits at No. 1 and No. 10 at the same time on Billboard’s ranking of the most consumed tracks in those genres throughout the United States. The list blends streaming, radio airplay, and sales, though streams appear to be largely keeping her tunes afloat.
“Birds of a Feather” Extends No. 1 Run
“Birds of a Feather” once again rules the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. The track has spent 63 weeks somewhere on the ranking and managed only a handful of frames away from the summit. At the same time, “Wildflower,” the final single pushed from Eilish’s album Hit Me Hard and Soft, surges from No. 13 to No. 10.
“Wildflower” Never Hit No. 1
While “Birds of a Feather” stands as one of Eilish’s five No. 1s on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs tally, “Wildflower” has never managed to rule. Instead, the single has peaked at No. 4, and it’s one of the Grammy and Oscar winner’s 19 appearances inside the highest tier on the roster.
“Birds of a Feather” Rules Several Charts
“Birds of a Feather” is enjoying a mixed performance on the Billboard charts. It appears on many tallies, which is especially impressive for a tune that’s been charting for more than 60 weeks. This frame, it holds at No. 1 on not just the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs list but also the Hot Alternative Songs tally, and it keeps inside the top 10 on several other rankings, even reappearing at No. 6 on the Alternative Digital Song Sales chart.
“Wildflower” Is on the Rise
“Wildflower,” by comparison, is growing in almost every instance this frame. It keeps at No. 20 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart but climbs on eight other rankings, including those focused on streaming activity and general consumption.
Ozzy Osbourne and Sombr Share Multiple Top 10 Hits
Eilish is one of a handful of artists who claim more than one top 10 hit on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart this week. Newcomer Sombr sits at Nos. 3 and 4 with “Undressed” and “Back to Friends,” respectively, which are both at their all-time highs. Osbourne appears at Nos. 6, 7, 8, and 9 with “Crazy Train,” “Mama, I’m Coming Home,” “Paranoid,” and “No More Tears,” respectively.
