Jay-Z’s Albums Record Tied By One Of Hip-Hop’s Most Prolific Stars

YoungBoy Never Broke Again never slows down, and the Billboard charts prove how prolific he is. The Louisiana rapper releases music at a pace few can match, and this week, that relentless output brings him one step closer to making history and joining several of hip-hop’s most successful legends.

MASA Debuts Inside the Top 10 on the Billboard 200

YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s latest project MASA opens at No. 6 on the Billboard 200. According to Luminate, the set moved 48,500 equivalent units in its first frame. Of that sum, more than 98% come from streaming, as fewer than 1,000 are pure sales.

YoungBoy Ties Jay-Z and Nas With 16 Top 10s

With his latest debut, YoungBoy collects his sixteenth top 10 on the Billboard 200. That number ties him with both Jay-Z and Nas for the third-most appearances inside the highest tier on the important roster among hip-hop artists, according to Billboard.

Drake and Future Lead Among Hip-Hop Hitmakers

Only Drake and Future have landed in the top 10 more often. Future currently leads with 18 top 10s on the Billboard 200, while Drake follows closely with 17. Given how frequently YoungBoy releases new full-lengths, he could tie or pass them both soon — but both musicians remain active.

Drake scored another No. 1 earlier this year with Some Sexy Songs 4 U, a collaborative project with PartyNextDoor. He’s already teasing his next album Iceman, which may drop before the end of 2025, as several singles have already hit the charts.

MASA Lands on Four Billboard Album Charts

MASA debuts on four Billboard album rankings, landing inside the top 10 on all of them. Its No. 6 start on the Billboard 200 is actually its lowest position this frame.

The set opens at No. 2 on the Top Rap Albums chart and No. 3 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums ranking. It also begins at No. 4 on the Top Streaming Albums list, marking YoungBoy’s first appearance inside the top 10 on that all-genre streaming-focused tally, despite more than 20 top-tier debuts on other Billboard rankings.

YoungBoy Edges Closer to a Billboard 200 Record

As MASA joins his already stacked discography, YoungBoy moves even closer to becoming the most successful rapper on the Billboard 200, at least when looking at trips to the loftiest space on the list. If the past few years are any indication, his next match-up with a powerhouse rapper will likely come soon.
