Ed Sheeran’s Years-Old Collaboration Finds New Life On The Charts

Ed Sheeran keeps adding to his already busy and successful year as his next album, Play, approaches. The singer-songwriter is juggling multiple active singles in the United Kingdom this frame, including both brand new releases and an unexpected return of one of his past collaborations. That comeback comes courtesy of an Afrobeats-leaning team-up with Burna Boy, which is once again finding its audience in the nation.

“For My Hand” Returns to the Sales Tallies

“For My Hand,” Sheeran’s 2022 team-up with Burna Boy, returns to two lists in the U.K. this week. The track reenters the Official Singles Sales chart at No. 26 and the Official Singles Downloads ranking at No. 22. The cut is enjoying its twenty‑first stay on each roster.

Burna Boy and Ed Sheeran’s Ongoing Partnership

“For My Hand” was first released in July 2022 as part of Burna Boy’s Love, Damini album. When it arrived, the collaboration opened at No. 17 on both sales-focused tallies — a peak it never surpassed — and stuck around for several weeks that summer.

Previous Collaboration With Stormzy

“For My Hand” isn’t the pair’s first success together. In 2019, Sheeran and Burna Boy joined Stormzy on “Own It,” which went on to become a U.K. hit. Burna Boy was one of a handful of names in the Afrobeats space to develop a sizable fan base in the country, and his multiple collaborations with a homegrown powerhouse like Sheeran has helped him immensely.

“Sapphire” and “Azizam” Continue to Perform

In addition to the return of “For My Hand,” Sheeran’s newer Play singles “Sapphire” and “Azizam” are still present on multiple rankings in the U.K. “Sapphire” is still living inside the top 10 on the main singles tally, while “Azizam” continues its long run, several months after its release.
