Alex Warren’s Breakout Project Sees Sales Grow By 10,000%

Alex Warren’s debut You’ll Be Alright, Kid experiences one of the most dramatic commercial turnarounds in recent memory. The pop singer-songwriter’s first full-length exploded in popularity a little more than a week ago, with sales surging several thousand percent after it was expanded from an EP to a complete album, with the title only changing slightly. A carefully-timed promotional push around the re-release helped transform the project into a breakout winner for the rising singer-songwriter.

In the frame before it became an expanded release, You’ll Be Alright, Kid sold fewer than 200 copies in the United States, according to Luminate. Following its reissue as a full-length on streaming platforms and at all retailers, sales skyrocketed to 12,800. That’s a growth of just over 10,000% from one frame to the next.

That sales spike pushes You’ll Be Alright, Kid into the top 10 on the Top Album Sales chart for the first time. The set debuts at No. 7 on the purchase-only tally, giving Warren his first appearance inside the upper tier. The project also opens at No. 5 on the Vinyl Albums list at the same time.

Beyond sales-only lists, You’ll Be Alright, Kid also climbs to new peaks on some of Billboard’s most competitive tallies. The album vaults from No. 19 to No. 5 on the Billboard 200 with 73,200 equivalent album units — a gain of more than 200% in total consumption from the prior frame. The project also soars to No. 5 on the Top Streaming Albums chart. In both instances, Warren scores his debut moment inside the top 10.

“Ordinary” Holds at No. 1 as “Eternity” Debuts

Lead You’ll Be Alright, Kid single “Ordinary” continues to dominate the Hot 100, holding at No. 1 for another stretch. The massively popular track, which has turned Warren into something of a quick star, is also ruling Radio Songs, Pop Airplay, and Adult Pop Airplay rosters, while also sitting inside the top 10 on the Streaming Songs list, Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S.

Brand new single “Eternity” manages an impressive entrance this week as You’ll Be Alright, Kid arrives. The cut debuts at No. 16 on the Hot 100, opens at No. 7 on the Streaming Songs list, and begins its time at No. 11 on the Billboard Global 200 as Warren gives the masses a new tune to focus on.
