WWE SummerSlam 2025 Results As Bayley Interferes, Becky Lynch Beats Lyra Valkyria

WWE SummerSlam 2025 seemed to be the perfect setup for the final chapter of the lengthy feud between Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria, and indeed it was.

Over the past several months, the two Irish women crafted a compelling friendship-turned-feud that turned Lynch to the dark side and helped elevate Valkyria to new new heights. Lynch defeated Valkyria in a Last Chance Match at Money in the Bank to become just the second women’s Intercontinental Champion ever, and at SummerSlam 2025, it was Valkyria’s last chance to win back that coveted title.

With a No Disqualification, No Countout Stipulation paving the way for some shenanigans in East Rutherford, New Jersey, that’s precisely what happened.

WWE SummerSlam 2025 Results for Becky Lynch vs. Lyra Valkyria

Lynch and Valkyria have been the two defining stars of the relatively new Women’s Intercontinental Championship, and after WWE SummerSlam, it will be “The Man” who moves forward as its flagbearer.

It was yet another quality match between two stars who’ve developed fantastic chemistry, but ultimately, Lynch was able to get the win after Bayley’s miscalculated interference cost Valkyria the match. Among the key highlights inside MetLife Stadium were:

  • Early on, Lynch put Valkyria in the announcer’s chair and hit a running dropkick, sending Lynch toppling over the chair.
  • Lynch put a steel chain in Valyria’s mouth and pulled it backward while using the ring post for leverage.
  • Lynch hit a drop toehold on Valkyria onto a steel chair that was set up in the middle of the ring and then blasted Valkyria with a tool box. She then zip-tied Valkyria’s hands together and proceeded to repeatedly hit her with a wrench. Still, that was only enough for a two-count.
  • With Valkyria’s zip-tied hands latched to the ring post, Lynch blasted her with a plethora of kendo stick shots and then hit a leg drop back in the ring. Even with her hands tied, Valkyria was able to hit Lynch with a belly-to-belly suplex to put a stop to her attack.
  • Hands still tied together, Valkyria mounted a comeback and hit a running dropkick off of a steel chair followed by a moonsault off the middle rope. Valkyria was able to slam Lynch’s head off the steel chair several times in a row and untie the padding off a top turnbuckle, which she then removed.
  • Valkyria got a fire extinguisher from under the ring and sprayed it in Lynch’s face. She was finally able to get the zip tie off and then proceed to unleash a kendo stick attach on Lynch. Valkyria then hit a running dropkick between the ropes, sending a steel chair straight into Lynch’s face.
  • Valkyria hit Lynch with a Night Wing off the steel steps onto the outside floor. Back in the ring, Lynch avoided an attack in the corner and then hit Valkyria with a Man Handle Slam through two steel chairs. But it only got a two-count.
  • Lynch wrapped an open steel chair around Valkyria and then repeatedly slammed her into the announce table and ring post before hitting a stomp on the chair, sending it into Valkyria’s throat and neck area.
  • As Lynch grabbed a steel crowbar, Bayley showed up and took it from her. Bayley considered hitting Valkyria, but then attacked Lynch instead. Valkyria escaped from the chair and sprinted at Lynch before launching a flying attack that sent Lynch crashing through a table.
  • Back in the ring, Bayley attempted to hit Lynch, who ducked, and inadvertently nailed Valkyria instead. That allowed Lynch to hit the Man Handle Slam for the 1-2-3.

Even with Valkyria losing under controversial circumstances, that’s exactly why WWE booked this bout as a “Last Chance No DQ, No Countout” match. There needed to be a sense of finality to the long-running rivalry between Lynch and Valkyria, but it had to be executed in a way in which the loser was protected.

With Bayley interfering to accidentally cost Valkyria , Lynch can officially put Valkyria in her rearview mirror once and for all.

Valkyria’s loss at WWE SummerSlam was, in a sense, a new beginning for Bayley, who could be transitioning back to her heel roots after costing Valkyria the match in MetLife Stadium.

Of course, Valkyria and Bayley have been intertwined in this Intercontinental title picture for months, and Valkyria appears to be the main reason why “The Role” model is now going to have even more beef with Valkyria moving forward. It’s similar to what Lynch did back in April after WrestleMania 41, and it should be a way to further push Valkyria even when she’s out of the title picture. After all, back-to-back marquee feuds with Bayley and Lynch, two of the most accomplished women’s stars in WWE history, is a surefire recipe for success.

Expect Valkyria and Bayley to continue their rivalry in the months ahead as Lynch moves on to some new challengers in Raw’s upper midcard.

There are plenty of accomplished and rising women’s wrestlers who could conceivably feud with Lynch on Raw. That list includes established talents like Asuka and Kairi Sane while other newer stars, ranging from Raquel Rodriguez to Roxanne Perez to Stephanie Vaquer, could step in as suitable opponents for Lynch as well.

As exemplefied by Lynch’s feud with Valkyria, she has shown a penchant for working with and elevating new stars. Even though she beat Valkyria at SummerSlam, the latter is certainly better off after their lengthy rivalry than she was beforehand.

With SummerSlam 2025 presumably ending their feud, Lynch can once again work with a rising name on Raw and catapult someone else up the card as Bayley and Valkyria splinter off into a singles rivalry.
