The new Trump International Golf Links course in Aberdeen, which will play home to the next Nexo Championship from August 7 to 10, was officially opened by President Donald Trump of the United States of America. Antoni Trenchev and Kosta Kantchev, who are both co-founders of Nexo, were present at the event. Also present were John Swinney, the First Minister of Scotland, and other notable personalities from the fields of politics, business, and international sports organizations.
It was a pleasure for the co-founders of Nexo to have the opportunity to join President Trump for lunch. During their conversation, they addressed topics such as the future of sports, global innovation, and the growing role that digital finance will play in the economy of the future.
Antoni Trenchev, co-founder of Nexo stated:
“President Trump officially inaugurated the new Trump International Golf Links in Scotland, set to host the Nexo Championship from August 7 to 10. Sharing lunch with the President after a round of golf, discussing politics, and our shared vision for crypto in the U.S. was a true honor. We’re sincerely grateful for everything he does – for everyone, everywhere.”
The Nexo Championship comes after Donald Trump Jr. had a trip to Bulgaria in April 2025, which was hosted by Nexo. During this trip, the firm made the announcement that it will be returning to the market in the United States.
Nexo is also an official partner of six of the most prominent tournaments that are scheduled to take place on the DP World Tour in 2025. These events include the Genesis Scottish Open, the Betfred British Masters, the BMW PGA Championship, the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai, and now the Nexo Championship.
Nexo is building a sustainable ecosystem at the interface of sports, technology, and premier global communities by prioritizing innovation and long-term collaborations. This ecosystem will be located at the junction of these three fields.
More than $400 million is generated yearly by golf tourism in Scotland, which is widely acknowledged as the birthplace of golf. It is anticipated that the opening of the new course and the staging of the Nexo Championship in Aberdeen would both lengthen the tourist season and attract further attention from across the world to the region.
