Elon Musk’s space exploration company SpaceX has moved its crypto holdings for the first time in three years.
According to data from blockchain sleuth Arkham Intelligence, SpaceX-labeled address 15oKQ7… i7Jf1G shifted roughly 1,308 Bitcoin (BTC) worth over $150 million to a new address on Tuesday. This transaction marks the first recorded outbound transfer since June 10, 2022, when it sent 3,505 BTC (valued at $102 million at the time) to Coinbase.
Following the latest on-chain activity, the SpaceX-tied wallet still holds around 6,977 BTC, worth approximately $820 million at current market prices.
Under Elon Musk’s leadership, his other company, Tesla, bought $1.5 billion worth of BTC in February 2021, making it one of the first publicly traded companies to hold Bitcoin on its balance sheet. The EV maker currently owns around 11,509 BTC (worth $1.36 billion).
Last month, Arkham revealed that Tesla and SpaceX collectively held over $2 billion in BTC, acquired at an average price of around $32,000, and have held these positions long-term. “Combined, Elon’s companies are up almost $1.5 BILLION on Bitcoin,” Arkham stated.

The price of Bitcoin recently skyrocketed to a new lifetime high of $122,838 last week, spurring a Satoshi-era whale to cash out 80,000 BTC after over a decade of dormancy.
While the motive behind Tuesday’s Bitcoin movement from SpaceX is unknown, it’s possible the company is just reorganizing its storage infrastructure rather than prepping for a liquidation.
Meanwhile, Musk recently announced the formation of a new political party — America Party — following his very public fallout with his former pal, President Donald Trump, over his “Big, Beautiful Bill,” which the eccentric tech entrepreneur called “utterly insane and destructive”.
Musk asserted that his new party would embrace Bitcoin since “fiat is hopeless.”
