Arkham Intelligence revealed that BlackRock added over $547 million in Ethereum exposure, outpacing its $497 million Bitcoin allocation during a single day of trading. When adjusted for market cap, this places Ethereum far ahead in the firm’s buying strategy.
This pivot comes amid growing optimism about Ethereum’s staking capabilities. BlackRock recently moved to enable staking within its iShares Ethereum ETF, a change that could offer institutional investors passive income—something unavailable with Bitcoin holdings. Nasdaq is backing this change by proposing updates to ETF rules that would allow staking participation.
Ethereum’s appeal is also being reinforced by price action. The asset recently surged past $3,600, marking double-digit gains over the past week and month. Whale accumulation is on the rise, and other public companies like Bitmine Technologies and SharpLink Gaming have also joined the ETH accumulation trend.
