XRP has emerged as one of the biggest surprises of the past year, soaring more than 277% against Bitcoin’s 88% gains.
What makes the rally remarkable is that it happened without key drivers like a U.S.-approved ETF, DeFi integration, or major corporate treasury backing.
Despite those hurdles, XRP recently shattered its all-time high, now trading above $3.60. Analysts say this move could be the start of something bigger. Crypto veteran Kyle Chassé noted the price action is especially impressive given the lack of typical catalysts. However, that may soon change.
ProShares just launched a leveraged XRP ETF on NYSE Arca, and several firms — including Franklin Templeton and Bitwise — have applications in for spot XRP ETFs. The market is taking notice, and investor sentiment is shifting fast.
Institutional interest is also heating up. CME saw record daily volumes in XRP futures this month, while Ripple’s partnerships are opening new use cases — including tokenized property deals in Dubai. Meanwhile, Webus International has formed a $300 million XRP reserve to support further adoption.
Even without a DeFi ecosystem, momentum is building. Platforms like Uphold are preparing yield options for wrapped XRP, and the token’s new Ethereum-compatible sidechain has drawn in over 1,300 smart contracts since June.
With strong fundamentals catching up to price action, XRP’s next leg up may only be getting started.
