Spoilers ahead for Episodes 1 and 2 of The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3.
The Summer I Turned Pretty is back for its bittersweet third and final season. The first two episodes are now streaming, with new episodes dropping weekly on Prime Video. Following the premiere, it’s time to unpack one of the new characters introduced this season: Agnes.
The third season picks up with Jeremiah and Belly, who are still together and attending Finch College. Belly is heading into the summer before her senior year, while Jeremiah was on track to graduate — but after messing up his credits, he now has to take fall classes as a super senior.
Their relationship has been rocky to say the least, with Jeremiah cheating on her in Cabo, Belly hiding that she spent Christmas with Conrad and the usual college drama. Meanwhile, Conrad is off studying to become a doctor and has a new friend of his own to keep him company.
In the show, Agnes is introduced as one of Conrad’s pre-med friends at Stanford, and she appears to be a steady presence in his life. She’s also a character in Jenny Han’s book, We’ll Always Have Summer, but her role is much smaller compared to her on-screen counterpart. So, who is Agnes, and will she and Conrad develop a romantic relationship?
Here’s what to know about Agnes and Conrad so far, including the actress who plays her and where you might have seen her before.
Who Is Agnes In The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3?
In Season 3, Episode 1, we meet Agnes, one of Conrad’s close pre-med friends at Stanford. She’s accepted into the same summer clinic residency as him, and she appears to be not only a great friend and confidant to the Fisher brother, but also a potential future love interest.
According to Decider, Agnes is portrayed somewhat differently in the series than in Jenny Han’s third book. Not only is her appearance different — in the text, Conrad describes Agnes as having wavy, chin-length dirty-blond hair, glasses, and skin as pale as milk — but the nature of their relationship is different as well. In the book, Agnes asks Conrad out and they have a fling.

However, in the show, their dynamic seems more like close friendship than casual hooking up. In the first episode, we learn that maybe Agnes wanted more, but shes mentions that Conrad was clear from the get go that he wasn’t interested in a relationship. She then asks if he’s ever been in love, and he tells her only once: Belly.
In Episode 2, Conrad is let go from the summer clinic after Dr. Namazy fires him for mislabeling a blood sample. She had previously offered him the day off after learning that Steven was in a serious accident, but he declined. Dr. Namazy tells him he’s not ready and lets him go. Later, Agnes visits him at home and talks to him about how he processes and carries his emotions, hinting that she may have a larger role in future episodes than she did in the book.
