Taylor Swift’s Breakout Album Returns To Several Charts At The Same Time

When Taylor Swift announced several years ago that she was planning to re-record and re-release her first six albums, fans expected they would eventually hear an exciting new take on her self-titled debut project. Earlier this year, the singer-songwriter revealed she had finally acquired the rights to her earliest works, essentially making all of her Taylor’s Version projects obsolete. In a message to her fans, Swift shared that she had already completed Taylor Swift (Taylor’s Version), but that she was unsure about when — or if — she would ever release it.

While the world waits to find out whether the updated version of the project that made Swift a household name will ever see the light of day, the original Taylor Swift is enjoying a resurgence on several Billboard charts.

Taylor Swift Returns to the Top Album Sales Chart

Nearly two decades after its release, Taylor Swift is back on the Top Album Sales chart. The singer’s first full-length collection reappears at No. 45 on the ranking, which lists the bestselling projects in the United States, regardless of genre, language, or format.

According to Luminate, the album sold just over 2,000 copies to return to the top 50. That sum represents a more than 40% increase from the previous frame, rising by almost 600 copies week-over-week.

The Vinyl Comeback Continues

The same introductory project also reappears on the Vinyl Albums tally. It’s unclear exactly how many of the 2,000 units sold were on vinyl, but the figure was large enough to place Taylor Swift among the 25 most-purchased vinyl releases in the country.

Taylor Swift has reached the top 10 on both the Top Album Sales and Vinyl Albums rankings in the past. The singer’s self-titled effort peaked at No. 5 on the comprehensive purchase-only list and No. 8 on the vinyl-only ranking.

Taylor Swift Has Spent Hundreds of Weeks as a Bestseller

The amount of time that Taylor Swift – which features hit tracks like “Tim McGraw,” “Teardrops on My Guitar,” and “Our Song” – has spent on each of those lists differs significantly. The collection is now up to 288 frames on the Top Album Sales chart, while it has appeared on the Vinyl Albums tally for just half a dozen stints.
